The likes of ex Tory MP, Ann Widdecombe, glamour model, Jess Impiazzi, Boris Johnson’s sister, Rachel, and 5 more female contestants have all been entered into the house since last Tuesday.

On Friday, 8 men were added to the house, with ex footballer, John Barnes, former Boyzone member, Shane Lynch, Australian drag queen, Courtney Act and 5 others to currently complete the house with 16 contestants.

Here are our top 5 contenders to make it to the final stage of the show:

Courtney Act – Real name Shane Gilberto Jenek –  is an Australian drag queen, singer and TV personality. She was on Australian Pop Idol in 2003 and has released a single. Courtney was also the foreign correspondent for the 2016 US elections for a Australian pop website. She is 9/4 to win CBB 2018.

Shane Lynch is a former member of boyband, Boyzone. He is a singer/songwriter and an actor. This is not his first time on a reality show as Shane was on The Games in 2004 and Love Island in 2006. Shane is 8/1 to win CBB 2018.

Jess Impiazzi

Jess Impiazzi is an actress and businesswoman who has also been a glamour model in the UK. She has a fashion line called HD Female. Jess also does her bit for good causes as she has lobbied for equal rights for those discriminated against using guide dogs. She has featured on TV shows such as The Only Way Is Essex and Ex on the Beach. Most recently, in 2016, she was linked romantically to Hollywood actor, Charlie Sheen. Jess is 11/1 to Win CBB 2018.

January Transfer Window - Betting Preview

The January Transfer Window has seen some huge players make moves to other clubs. One of the biggest was when then Liverpool striker, Fernando Torres, moved to London and signed for Chelsea for £50 million in 2011. We also saw Juan Mata leave Chelsea for Manchester United in 2014, for £38 million.

This January window has already started off with a big money move, with Liverpool agreeing a fee in the region of a whopping £75 million for Southampton centre back, Virgil van Djik. The defender has been on Jurgen Klopp’s list to sign for some time now and the Dutchman will be happy to finally make his move to Anfield.

Though a huge fee, the most expensive defender in World football, a must for Liverpool as they have struggled at the back for many years and could finally have the piece of the puzzle to bring them the success that they yearn for.

We take a look at a handful of players who are currently targeted by other clubs and the likelihood the move will take place in this January transfer window.

Phillipe Coutinho

The Brazilian playmaker has been the target of Barcelona since the departure of Neymar to Paris St Germain in the summer and the young Brazilian did have his head swayed by the interest, before the close of the transfer window. The 25 year old will want to move to one of the biggest clubs in the world but any delays could cause the Catalan side to drop their interest, as they have not looked the same side without Neymar and will want to fill the gap as soon as possible.

There has also been speculation that the world’s most expensive player has been trying to persuade his countryman to move to Paris, with the two knowing each other since the age of 14 and playing in the national side. Though Coutinho is a fantastic player, Maybe this is a way for Neymar to get one over on Barcelona?

If a deal is brokered during the January window, it wont be a sudden departure for Coutinho, but a summer move as the Brazilian has already made appearances in the Champions League, restricting the midfielder in the competition. To his credit, Coutinho has not let his performances slip since the interest and has stated he will always give his all for the Merseyside club.

“I am at Liverpool and I always do my best when I have the opportunity to play, respecting the jersey and the supporters,” he said. “I do not know how the future is going to be. What will happen in January, we will know it in January. I do not know if there will be an offer. Last summer there was a job offer in the same way that happens with any employee and I was interested in it. Since I stayed I have played with will and desire.”

I believe a deal for Coutinho to move to the Nou Camp will happen but the transfer will happen in the summer.

  • To Stay at Liverpool – 2/5
  • To Leave Liverpool – 7/4
  • To Sign for Barcelona – 7/4
  • To Sign for PSG – 18/1

Daniel Sturridge

Since his arrival at Anfield, Daniel Sturridge has been in and out of the team. The 28 year old has struggled to keep a first team place in his time at the club, with only the 2013/2014 and the 2016/2017 Premier League seasons seeing the forward starting in more than 20 games. The style that Liverpool play forces the hand of the manager to leave out an out and out forward and admittedly, Sturridge isn’t capable of producing the football that Salah, Coutinho, Mane and Firmino do.

Still regarded as one of the best English finishers in the league, Sturridge should have no problem in finding a suitable team. The January transfer window could see the player make a move to West Ham, who were interested in the summer. Personally, a move to Southampton, if Mauricio Pellegrino wants to add a forward to the side, would be a good fit for the 28 year old and could revitalise his chances of being selected in the World Cup squad for England.

  • To Stay at Liverpool – 8/11
  • To Sign for West Ham – 10/1
  • To Sign for Southampton – 16/1
  • To Sign for Newcastle – 6/4

Ross Barkley

The 24 year old has been touted to be one of England’s hottest prospects since he broke into the Everton team in 2011. Barkley featured as a regular starter from 2013 till last season, but has not gone on to live up to the expectations due to inconsistency and injury. Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham had been rumoured to be interested in the player, with Chelsea and Everton agreeing a deal on the last day of the summer transfer window, only for Barkley to reject the offer to stay in Merseyside to regain his fitness and make a decision come Jan.

Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is said to be an admirer of Barkley and has been trying to add more English talent to his squad, so Barkley could make a move to North London, also allowing him to play in the Champions League come February. A great move if it occurs as Barkley would flourish under Pochettino.

Barkley could make a move this January, but without a competitive game all season, it will be difficult to get the attacking midfielder back to his best and to gel with his new side. But I do believe Spurs would be his best destination.

  • To Stay at Everton – 5/6
  • To Leave Everton – 5/6
  • To Sign for Chelsea – 5/2
  • To Sign for Tottenham – 2/1

Danny Rose/Luke Shaw

Danny Rose has been a regular for Tottenham since returning from a season long loan at Sunderland in the 2012/2013 season. He made his England debut in March 2016 and has become a more complete player under club manager, Mauricio Pochettino.

The 27 year old has made five appearances this season so far due to injury, and speculation that the left back spoke out against the club in regards to being underpaid and that a move up north was something he wished to do before his playing career ends.

Rose has plenty of suitors, Manchester United being one. The Red Devils have been playing Ashley Young in the position whilst Luke Shaw sits on the bench. Clearly an issue between Mourinho and Shaw, which could open up a swap deal between the Manchester and London club.

Luke Shaw, 22, currently has until the summer before his contract ends at Manchester United, but United are prepared to activate his 12 month extension clause. Shaw played under Pochettino at Southampton and the two are said to have a good relationship though Pochettino has stated the player, when at Southampton, lacked attitude and work rate.

Another possible destination for Rose could be Liverpool. Klopp has struggled to maintain faith in his left back, Alberto Moreno, and though he has appeared in twelve matches this season, Klopp will have to sure up his defence to balance the attack.

I believe that Rose will make a move to Manchester United, but in the summer. Luke Shaw would be a good replacement for Tottenham, if Pochettino believes the player has matured. Personally though, I would like to see Shaw stay at Utd, with him appearing in a few matches recently, showing he still has plenty to offer.

Danny Rose

  • To Stay at Tottenham – 10/11
  • To Sign for Man Utd – 10/11
  • To Sign for Chelsea – 12/1
  • To sign for Liverpool – 33/1

Luke Shaw

  • To Stay at Man Utd – 11/10
  • To Sign for Tottenham – 5/4
  • To Sign for Southampton – 11/1
  • To Sign for Everton – 14/1

Other players that could be making moves this January are Alexis Sanchez, who is currently 11/10 (Skybet) to leave Arsenal this January and move to Manchester City. Another player linked to Manchester City, (4/7Skybet) and the odds reflecting almost a certainty to make the move, is former Manchester United centre back, Jonny Evans, who City tried to sign from West Brom in the summer.

With uncertainty remaining on David Luiz’s future, could he make a move across London to rivals Arsenal? 6/1 (Skybet) suggest it is unlikely but we have seen stranger things in football.

Sevilla and former Blackburn and Stoke midfielder, Steven N’Zonzi, has been linked with a move to Arsenal also. He is 5/6 (Skybet) to make a move to North London this transfer window.

NFL - Gameweek 14 Preview

NFL – Gameweek 14 Preview – With division races heating up and playoff seeding being determined, here are my top week 14 predictions.

Eagles at Rams

My game of the week. Top seeded Eagles are coming off a loss against the Seahawks and will be looking to rebound, meanwhile a win for the Rams could put them in striking distance to be the top seed in the NFC. Both teams have explosive offenses, and both teams have aggressive defenses, I expect a highly competitive game. The Rams home crowd hasn’t been to their advantage all year, I expect this week to be different.

Rams to Win –  24 – 20

Goff: 285 YDS, 2 TDS

Gurley: 115 Total YDS, 1 Rushing TD

Skybet Handicap and Total Points – Los Angeles Rams -0.5 and Under 52.5 Total Match Points – 13/8

Vikings at Panthers

This is a potential playoff matchup with the division leading Vikings and the wild card spot for the Panthers. The Panthers are coming off a loss to the Saints and cannot afford another loss in the tight wild card race. The Vikings are comfortable in their division and are in striking distance to be the number 1 seed in the NFC. The Vikings top rated defense will be hard to score on, however I believe the Panthers defense can do a solid job against the Vikings offense. Another close game expected here. At home I have the Panthers winning late.

Panthers to Win –  24 – 17

Newton: 250 YDS, 2 TDS

McCaffery: 85 YDS Total, 1 Rushing TD

Skybet Match Result – Panther to Win – 5/4

Seahawks at Jaguars

Both teams are in dead heat playoff battles to get in, and each team cannot afford to lose. Seattle is coming off a big win against the Eagles. The Jags have been impressive this season, however will be entering unfamiliar territory in the upcoming weeks having to fight for playoff berth. MVP candidate QB Russell Wilson has put the Seahawks on his back the past few weeks. On the road on a cross country trip, I’m taking the experienced Seahawks in this one.

Seahawks to Win – 21 – 14

Wilson: 285 Total YDS, 2 TDS

Graham: 88 YDS, 1 TD

Baldwin: 100 YDS, 1 TD

Skybet Total Points – 35-38 Points – 5/1

Sunday Night: Ravens at Steelers

The historic AFC North rivals meet here with both teams on winning steaks and in the playoffs. The Steelers are ahead in the division and will be looking to keep pace with the Patriots as the number one seed in the AFC. Meanwhile the Ravens have a wild card spot and will be looking to maintain it. Both teams have aggressive defenses, and historically when these two meet it will be a physical game. Expect both teams to look for ball control. At home, that is advantage Pittsburg.

Steelers winning – 21 – 17

Roethlisberger: 250 YDS, 2 TDS

Bell: 125 YDS, 1 Rushing TD, 1 REC TD

Brown: 100 YDS, 1 TD

Skybet Handicap and Total Points – Pittsburgh Steelers -5.5 and Under 45.5 Total Match Points – 5/2

Christmas Specials 2017 - Betting Preview

Christmas is less than three weeks away and we await the UK No.1 single for Christmas which we will all find out on the 22nd December! We take a look at who could potentially be at the top from our top 5 picks! We also take a look at the betting odds on whether it shall snow this year on Christmas day…our guess is yes as it is already freezing! But the question is where in the UK?

Christmas No.1 2017

Ed Sheeran ft Beyonce – Perfect – 8/13

Two of the most popular and talked about artists have collaborated on a single which could easily get to No.1.

Big Shaq – Mans Not Hot –16/1

British comedian, actor and rapper,  ‘Big Shaq’ aka Michael Dapaah, has become an internet sensation since his online skits and his mockumentary, SWIL, had everyone in stitches. He made the track, ‘Mans Not Hot’, which has become an instant hit in the clubs with his catchy lyrics.

George Michael/Wham! – Last Christmas – 11/2

Wham! produced the biggest selling no. 2 of all time with this classic during the festive period. Everyone knows it and it has been used in multiple TV adverts. George Michael passed away on the 25th December 2016 and many believe that the fans would love to see this become no.1 as a fitting tribute to the great.

Choirs With Purpose – Stand Together – 12/1

Choirs With Purpose are a collaboration of 12 choirs from across the UK who are creating a crowd funded compilation album for Christmas, with the single, Stand Together the first from the album. The single is for good causes and this should do well in the charts.

Rak – Su (X Factor Winners) – 13/2

The Watford based quartet were awarded the X Factor winners after performing an original song and had the public giving them the vote over singer/songwriter, Grace Davis. The last time a contestant from X Factor was no.1 at Christmas was Ben Haenow in 2014 with his song ‘Something I Need’.

Betting for ‘Christmas No.1 2017’ closes on 19th December 2017.

A White Christmas?

The last widespread White Christmas was back in 2010 in the UK, which was also the coldest December for over 100 years. We also had snow in 2009 and technically in 2015, but it was not snow lying on the ground.

For it to be a White Christmas, one snow flake must be observed falling in the 24hrs of 25th December at a specified location.

Here are the odds for snow to fall on the 25th December in 8 of the largest cities in the UK.

Aberdeen – 13/8

Belfast – 7/2

Birmingham – 5/1

Cardiff – 5/1

Dublin – 5/1

Glasgow – 2/1

London – 5/1

Manchester – 4/1

Betting for ‘Snow on Christmas Day’ closes on 11th December 2017.

Sports Personality of the Year 2017 - Betting Preview

The BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2017 winner will be revealed on Sunday 17th December 2017, taking place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool and televised live on BBC.

Last year, Andy Murray won the award after a tremendous year in Tennis, winning Gold at the Olympics, winning Wimbledon for the second time and was ranked No. 1 in the World. Second place went to Triathlete Alistair Brownlee with third place going to Showjumper, Nick Skelton.

We take a look at some of the nominees for this year’s award and the betting odds for each sports personality:

Anthony Joshua (Boxing)

The 28 year old Watford-born Heavyweight champion has successfully defended his WBA and IBF Heavyweight titles this year with the main highlight being in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley Stadium when defeating Wladimir Klitschko in the eleventh round in May. In October, Joshua took on Carlos Takam in Cardiff at the Principality Stadium and was victorious via TKO.

This is Joshua’s first nomination and he is currently the favourite to become the Sports Personality of the Year.

Odds – 2/9

Lewis Hamilton (F1 Motor Racing)

Hamilton, 32, won his 4th World title at the Mexican Grand Prix in October making him Britain’s most successful driver, ahead of Jackie Stewart and is joint third in the all time title standings. Hamilton won the Sports Personality of the Year in 2014 and has been placed second on two occasions, 2007 and 2008.

Odds – 6/1

Chris Froome (Cycling)

Froome claimed a fourth Tour de France title and became the first Brit to win the Vuelta a Espana.  The 32 year old also won two bronze medalsat the World Championships in September.

Froome has not won the award before but has finished in 6th position in both 2013 and 2015.

Odds – 14/1

Mo Farah (Athletics)

Mo Farah had another good year as he claimed a third consecutive World 10,000 metre Gold medal in London back in August. He also gained a silver medal in the 5,000 metres, just missing out on a fifth major championships double. Farah was given a knighthood from the Queen in November.

Farah has not won the award before but has finished 3rd once and 4th three times.

Odds – 28/1

Harry Kane (Football)

The England striker bagged the Golden Boot award for top scorer in the Premier League for the second successive season with 29 goals for club, Tottenham Hotspur. Kane, 24, scored the all important goal to ensure England’s qualification into the World Cup 2018 against Slovenia. He was also the only English player to be nominated for the coveted Ballon d’Or prize.

This is Harry Kane’s first nomination for the award.

Odds – 33/1

Jonathan Rhea (Motor Cycling)

The 30 year old became the first rider to win three successive World Superbike titles, as well as breaking Colin Edwards’ 15 year record for the number of points scored in a season. The Northern Irishman also had 16 wins in 2017, taking his career wins to 54,  just 5 behind Carl Fogarty.

This is Rhea’s first nomination for the award.

Odds – 33/1

Celebrity 2017

Another year and another ‘I”m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here’ with celebrities entering the jungle for one reason or another. More bush tucker trials and kangaroo parts for the celebs to feast on!

We take a look at a few of the contenders and their odds of winning this year, along with our pick to win!

Amir Khan

Amir Khan has not had the best of years, with personal problems in his marriage and it being over a year since his last fight. But the 30 year old is looking to regain his status by becoming a sofa favourite during the next three weeks in the jungle. No one is really sure of why he has entered but one thing that can be assured is the public wanting to see Khan in as many uncomfortable scenarios as possible, something that could work in favour of the boxer. If there was a market for who will do the most trials, I can guarantee it will be this man.

Odds to Win – 12/1

Stanley Johnson

Stanley Johnson, the father to politician, Boris Johnson, will be the oldest member of the jungle this year. The 77 year old has written around 25 books and may be best known for his disagreement with his son, Boris, over Brexit, as Stanley wanted to remain. If Stanley is anything like his son, then we could be up for a few laughs, though I cannot see him winning, but coming in the top 4.

Odds to Win – 5/1

Georgia Toffolo

Georgia Toffolo is known for being on the E4 show, Made in Chelsea. The 23 year old, known as ‘Toff’, has completed a Law degree as she looks to get involved in commercial law. Toff lives the lavish life, as well as on the show, so a complete change of scenario could be interesting for viewer’s as we get to see how she adapts to the jungle. Toff has a great chance of winning, as reflected in the odds.

Odds to Win – 3/1

Dennis Wise

Dennis Wise, ex Chelsea and Wimbledon footballer, now 50, is best known for his ‘hard man’ mentality on the field and viewer’s will be able to see if he can live up to that name when involved in a trial. Wise is said to be a little claustrophobic, something that will entice the viewer’s to vote for the former midfielder in order to see him in an uncomfortable situation.

Odds to Win – 14/1

The other contenders in the jungle are: Rebekah Vardy, Vanessa White, Jack Maynard, Shappi Khorsandi, Jamie Lomas, Jennie McAlpine, Kezia Dugdale and Iain Lee.

Juventus vs Real Madrid - Match Preview

Champions League Final, Principality Stadium, Cardiff 7.45pm

Juventus vs Real Madrid – Match Preview – It’s the holy grail of European trophies. Under the bright Cardiff street lights, Juventus and Real Madrid fans will pour into the Principality Stadium in anticipation, hoping their side can grasp the two large handles on the Champions League trophy on Saturday 3rd June.

Real Madrid will be looking to defend their title, and if successful, will be the first team since 1989 to win back-to-back European trophies. AC Milan were the last side to do so; defeating Benfica 1-0 in 1989-90 season following their previous success in 1988-89.

Juventus have reached the final eight times in their history. The Italian giants have been triumphant in two of those eight finals; in 1985 and 1996. ‘The Old Lady’ most recently featured in the 2015 final against Barcelona and lost, 3-1. Now Real Madrid striker, Alvaro Morata, scored for Juventus and will now be hoping he can beat his old side on Saturday.

Welsh winger, Gareth Bale, was announced in the Champions League final squad after a six-week injury that left his potential dream return to his hometown for the final in the balance. Bale has had a mixed season having been unfortunate with injury for most of it. If Bale does feature for ‘Los Blancos’, will he create some magic back in his hometown, Cardiff?

Skybet Anytime Goalscorer – Gareth Bale to score Anytime in 90 mins – 5/2

Juventus have progressed through the tournament in typical Juventus style; well drilled at the back, a tireless midfield and natural goal scorers among their arsenal. Gonzalo Higuain has been in sublime form this season, having moved to Juventus in 2016 for a whopping £75 million. The Argentine has delivered on his price tag, having scored 24 goals in 38 matches. Can Gonzalo strike again on Europe’s biggest stage?

Skybet Anytime Goalscorer – Gonzalo Higuain to score Anytime in 90 mins – 13/8

Team News

As aforementioned, Zinedine Zidane has a huge decision to make regarding Gareth Bale and whether to start him over Isco. Isco has played an important part in Madrid’s La Liga title win this season.

Pepe is set to miss the final with broken ribs, meaning Raphael Varane is likely to start with Sergio Ramos at the back. Can those two create a formidable partnership?

French Cup Final, Stade de France, Saint – Denis 8pm

Ligue 1 runners-up PSG are seeking their third consecutive Coupe de France title against underdogs Angers SCO at Stade de France.

The home of French football, Stade de France, could host one of the true underdog stories as The Parisian goliaths face trophy-less Angers in France’s premier knockout cup competition.

PSG have had a very poor season by their own ambitious standards and as such manager Unai Emery’s job is under intense scrutiny. Accustomed to success; especially domestically, missing out to a brilliant Monaco side in Ligue 1 by 8 points will have been a massive blow. Even worse was the humiliating manner in which the Spanish manager’s side threw a commanding 4-0 lead against Barcelona in the Champions League – losing 6-1 in the second leg and consequentially being ejected from the competition as early as the last 16 stage.

The only silverware won this campaign by the ex-Valencia and Sevilla manager’s side has been the Coupe de la Ligue; crushing French Champions Monaco 4-1 in the final.
Winning the Coupe de France – and therefore the domestic club double – could be Emery’s only salvation as he fights for his job. The Spaniard is no stranger to success in cup competitions; having guided Sevilla to three consecutive Europa League titles during his time in Seville.

Stephane Moulin’s men finished in a commendable 12th position in Ligue 1 but have never won a trophy in the club’s history. In fact, this is the first cup final Angers have got to for 60 years – making PSG massive favourites to take the crown.

Angers displayed their fighting spirit in a resilient 2-0 semi-final victory over Guingamp; in the last minute Guingamp forward Jimmy Briand missed a penalty before Karl Toko Ekambi went up the other end to finish the tie in injury time.
PSG reached the final by demolishing domestic rivals Monaco 5-0 with a stunning performance in the semis, courtesy of a Blaise Matuidi goal an assist.

PSG have won 13 of their last 16 league matches so will come into this one in red hot form, Angers on the other hand have lost 6 of their last 10 – but picked up two consecutive wins to end the season which will help build confidence.

Team News
PSG will be thankful they have an embarrassment of riches to call upon in their squad, as full backs Thomas Meunier and Layvin Kurzawa are both ruled out – Maxwell and Serge Aurier are both set to start in their place. Grzegorz Krychowiak is also out of contention. Hatem Ben Arfa and Marco Veratti are both doubts but should be fit enough to make the squad.

Angers will want to be at full strength for the challenge of the French giants – but will be without defenders Pablo Martinez and Yoann Andreu are ruled out alongside striker Billy Ketkeophomphone. Abdoulaye Bamba remains a doubt for the final.

Players to Watch
This match is likely to boil down to whether the PSG players can reach the standards expected to see the job through. Hence two key players for the Parisians are noted here.
Edison Cavani is a player that often divides opinion. Irrespective of his perceived efficiency or whether he was the man to replace the cataclysmic hole left by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Uruguayan’s output is phenomenal – 35 goals in Ligue 1 is only bettered by Lionel Messi’s 37 in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season. Blessed with athleticism and incredible movement of the ball and with a gifted knack for being in the right place at the right time; 49 goals in all competitions this season highlights the danger of the ex-Napoli man. It is a certainty that PSG are going to create chances, if Cavani puts them away then Angers won’t have a prayer of winning this tournament.

Thiago Silva is a man that leads by example – the PSG captain puts his body on the line in aid of his team and uses his leadership qualities to calm his side down when needed. The Brazillian international is the second most expensive defender in history after moving from Italian giants AC Milan to the French capital. Thiago Silva is an excellent reader of the game and often snuffs out opportunities before the danger presents itself, his ability on the ball then helps the team push forward.
61 caps for Brazil in a trophy-laden career speaks volumes of one of the world’s highest-rated defenders and on his day can give nightmares to even the very best strikers.
