Sheffield United vs Manchester City – Match Preview

Sheffield United vs Manchester City
Tuesday 21st January 2020
Premier League, Bramall Lane

Live on BT Sport 2 – Kick-off: 19:30 GMT.

Sheffield United will host Manchester City in Premier League action this Tuesday night.

The hosts are enjoying an incredible season under Chris Wilder after promotion last season and clinched a dramatic draw against Arsenal on the weekend. Meanwhile, City also drew on the weekend – much to their dismay – against Crystal Palace who appear to be their ‘bogey team’.

Sheffield United are priced at 7/1 to win the match by SkyBet and add to Man City’s misery. The Blades are currently 7th in the league standings and against all the odds are pushing for Europa League qualification this season. They have made Brammall Lane a fortress in recent weeks and are unbeaten in four matches at home, winning three of them.

Going forward, summer signing Oli McBurnie is finding his feet and quickly becoming a fan favourite with the Bladesmen. He is priced at 7/2 to score anytime against a leaky City defence.

Manchester City are priced at 4/11 to win and make up for more points dropped on the weekend. Pep Guardiola’s side will be disappointed with their last result – a 2-2 draw at home with Crystal Palace – as it gives Liverpool even more space at the top of the league. Whilst defending their title seems to be a near impossible task, they still have their eyes on Champions League glory and qualification for next season.

Striker Sergio Aguero continues to break records with a late brace last time out. He now has 15 goals for the season and is priced at 12/5 to break the deadlock.

The referee for this match will be Lee Mason. The official has not been shy reaching into his pocket this season and has an average of 37.5 booking points from his 10 topflight matches.

The match will be televised on BT Sport 2 HD and kicks off at 19:30.

Prediction: Sheffield United 1 – 2 Manchester City

– The hosts will put up a good fight but a City team with a point to prove are a dangerous prospect.

Liverpool vs Manchester United – Match Preview

Liverpool vs Manchester United
Sunday 19th January 2020
Premier League, Anfield

Live on Sky Sports Premier League HD – Kick-off: 16:30 GMT.

Liverpool and Manchester United will lock horns in Premier League action this Super Sunday.

The Reds are flying high and look set to win their first ever Premier League title. They are currently unbeaten in the league with the only blemish on their record being their draw with United last time out. Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are currently fifth in the league standings and are hoping to close the gap on the top four.

Liverpool are favourites for this match and are priced at 2/5 by SkyBet to win and continue their rampant charge to the title. Jurgen Klopp’s men have been utterly sublime this season and already have one hand on their first Premier League trophy. They have 20 of their 21 league matches and are 14 points clear at the top with a game in hand. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Going forward, Sadio Mane has become their new talisman and has 11 league goals to his name. He is priced at 6/5 to score anytime.

Manchester United are priced at a huge 6/1 to win the match and cause a huge upset to end the Reds unbeaten season. United are a picture of inconsistency. One week they play brilliantly, look dangerous and score goals for fun. The next, they can’t string two passes together. If the same side turns up that did in the reverse fixture, we could have a game on our hands.

With a potential injury blow to Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial will likely be called upon to lead the line. He has eight league goals and is priced at 12/5 to score anytime.

The referee for this match will be Craig Pawson. The official has not been shy when reaching for his pocket this season and has an average of 43.2 booking points from his eleven Premier League matches in charge. There are usually fireworks when these two meet and SkyBet are offering 11/8 for 50+ booking points.

The match will be televised on Sky Sports Premier League HD and kicks off at 16:30.

Prediction: Liverpool 2 – 0 Manchester United

– The hosts will want to make a point after their draw last time and home advantage will be a big factor in this one.

Nottingham Forest vs Luton Town – Match Preview

Nottingham Forest vs Luton Town
Sunday 19th January 2020

SkyBet Championship – City Ground

Live on Sky Sports Football – Kick-Off 12:00 GMT

Nottingham Forest will play host to SkyBet Championship basement boys Luton Town this Sunday afternoon.

Forest are enjoying a strong season near the top end of the championship standings. They are currently fifth in the league and are unbeaten in their last four matches. Meanwhile, Luton Town are enduring a torrid time at the foot of the table with six losses from their last seven league outings.

Nottingham Forest are priced at 8/13 to win the match by SkyBet and continue their bid for a play-off place at the end of the season. Sabri Lamouchi has got Forest playing some very attractive football which has seen them enjoy the new year period to date. They won their last two home matches against Blackburn and Wigan and have a relatively good record against teams battling relegation.

Going forward, Lewis Grabban has been their standout performer with 14 goals so far this term. He is priced at 13/5 to open to scoring at City Ground this Sunday.

Luton Town are priced at a huge 17/4 to pull off a shock victory and potentially lift them off the bottom of the table. Luton are in desperate need of a win no matter how they achieve it. Despite scoring goals not being the hardest thing for them to do this season, their defence has been atrocious. They have conceded 36 goals from 14 away matches and lost twelve of those matches.

Striker James Collins is their biggest hope of survival this season and he has nine goals so far. He is priced at 5/2 to score anytime.

The referee for this match will be Tony Harrington. The official has not been too rash when brandishing his cards this season and has an average of 31.6 booking points from his 16 second division matches in the middle.

The match will be televised on Sky Sports Football HD and kicks off at 12:00.

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-0 Luton Town

– The hosts are in much better form and shouldn’t have too many problems beating their subpar opponents.
