Brighton vs Arsenal – Match Preview

Brighton vs Arsenal
Saturday 20th June 2020
Premier League – The Amex Stadium

Live on BT Sport 1/Ultimate – Kick-off: 15:00PM

Brighton return to the Amex Stadium this weekend as they host Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Exactly 100 days had passed since a ball was last kicked in the Premier League before Aston Villa and Sheffield United’s stalemate on Wednesday evening. This weekend presents the rest of the Premier League pack with an opportunity to return to action.

To say Brighton need a Premier League win is an understatement. Graham Potter’s side are yet to win in the league this year, a winless run which consists of ten matches in all competitions. The seagulls currently sit 15th in the league, two points above the relegation zone.

Before the league’s stoppage Arsenal were unbeaten in their last nine, and yet to lose in the Premier League in 2020.

However, their return to Premier League action on Wednesday night was a disappointment, and if you’re David Luiz, it was a disaster. Mikel Arteta’s side were beaten 3-0 by the Champions, and Luiz’s contribution was a car crash to say the least.  In the 25 minutes that the Brazilian was on the field he managed to gift City the lead, concede a penalty, and get himself sent off.

Brighton shocked the Gunners back in December with a 2-1 win at the Emirates, their first win over Arsenal since 2017, and only their second in over 40 years. Arsenal’s recent form against the Seagulls is poor; they have failed to win in each of their last four encounters against this weekend’s opposition.

In eight of the last nine meetings in this fixture BTTS has landed. SkyBet are offering odds of 4/6 for both teams to find the back of the net on Saturday afternoon.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored in three of his last four appearances against Brighton and is priced at 23/20 to make it four in five this weekend on SkyBet.

The referee for this clash is Martin Atkinson. The 49-year old has taken charge of 25 Premier League matches this season, accumulating a total of 72 yellow cards and 3 red cards.

Arsenal’s Sokratis Papastathopolous has been yellow carded in his last two consecutive appearances against Brighton and is priced at 21/20 to be carded in this one.

Brighton vs Arsenal will be televised live on BT Sport 1/Ultimate, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 BST on Saturday afternoon.

Fulham vs Brentford – Match Preview

Fulham vs Brentford

SkyBet Championship – Craven Cottage
Live on Sky Sports Main event – Kick-off: 12:30PM

The SkyBet Championship returns this weekend and Fulham are back in action at Craven Cottage on Saturday lunchtime when they host Brentford.

Prior to the seasons stoppage due to the coronavirus, both sides were battling at the top end of the division with all eyes on securing promotion to the Premier League. Fulham sit 3rd, four points and one place ahead of Brentford.

Scott Parker’s side have lost only twice in the Championship this year and hadn’t been beaten in their five meetings before the break. Brentford, similarly, were in fine form and had lost only one of their last eight encounters.

These two sides met back in December and Brentford came away with all three points with a 1-0 win. Bryan Mbueno struck the winner for the Bees, and the Englishman is priced at 2/1 on SkyBet to score anytime.

In the last four meetings in this fixture, both sides have won twice apiece. BTTS has landed in three of the last four encounters and is priced at 8/11 on SkyBet.

The man in charge of this one is James Linnington. The Englishman has appeared 20 times in the Championship so far this season, accumulating a total of 56 yellow cards and 3 red cards. This considered, I would recommend a minimum of 30+ booking points for this fixture. Two yellow cards were issued back in December’s meeting between these two.

Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic is the top scorer in the division with 23 goals. The Serbian failed to score in the two games before the Championship’s stoppage. He is priced 7/5 on SkyBet to score anytime this weekend. Furthermore, the man who sits second in the Championship goalscoring chart, Brentford’s Ollie Watkins, is priced at 13/8 to find the back of the net on Saturday afternoon.

Fulham vs Brentford will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event, with kick-off scheduled to take place at 12:30PM on Saturday lunchtime.

Prediction: Fulham 2-2 Brentford

Watford vs Leicester City – Match Preview

Watford vs Leicester City
Saturday 20th June 2020
Premier League – Vicarage Road

Live on BT Sport 1/Ultimate – Kick-off: 12:30PM

The Premier League returns this weekend and Watford are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Leicester City.

Exactly 100 days had passed since a ball was last kicked in the Premier League before Aston Villa and Sheffield United’s stalemate on Wednesday evening. This weekend presents the rest of the Premier League pack with an opportunity to return to action.

Before the league’s stoppage, Watford had lifted themselves out of the relegation zone and up to 17th, with all attention on surviving the dreaded drop. Nigel Pearson’s side had won one of their last eight in all competitions, the 3-0 triumph over runaway leaders Liverpool. Before that, their last win came in January.

Leicester meanwhile were battling at the opposite end of the table and striving to secure Champions League football for next season. With 2nd placed Manchester City currently suspended from competing in the competition next year, the Foxes find themselves on course to secure European football for the second time in the last five seasons. Brendan Rodgers’ side had lost two of their last three in the Premier League before the break. A winning return is exactly what his side will be targeting.

These two sides met back in December where Leicester ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Jamie Vardy and James Maddison. Jamie Vardy has scored in his last four consecutive appearances against the Hornets and is priced at 21/20 to score anytime on SkyBet.

Leicester have won three of the last four meetings between these two sides and come into Saturday’s fixture priced at 21/20 on SkyBet. In each of the last four meetings between these two, the home side has scored two goals. Watford are priced at 15/8 to score 2+ goals.

Craig Pawson is in charge for this one and the 41-year-old has awarded 63 yellow cards in 15 Premier League appearances this season, an average of over four cards per game.

Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure has been yellow carded in his last two appearances in this fixture and is the Hornet’s most booked player this season. The Frenchman is priced at 5/2 to be carded in 90 minutes on SkyBet.

Watford vs Leicester City will be televised live in the UK on BT Sport 1.
