Manchester United vs Chelsea – Match Preview

Manchester United vs Chelsea

FA Premier League, Old Trafford

Live on Sky Sports Premier League HD – Kick-Off: 16:30 BST

Manchester United vs Chelsea: It’s a winner-takes-all clash at Old Trafford on Sunday as Manchester United take on Chelsea following back-to-back league defeats.

It’s been a difficult few days for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. United’s 4-0 trouncing at Everton was then worsened by a 2-0 home defeat to Manchester City. The Red Devils were outclassed in their own back yard on Wednesday night, with David de Gea making two high-profile errors in the process. Seven defeats in nine games is a shocking run, which has seriously damaged United’s hopes of a top-four finish. Surprisingly, they still have some hopes of rectifying the situation but this game is a must win. Solskjaer’s side are three points behind the Blues, who occupy fourth place, with three games to go. A win would move the two teams level on points, although Arsenal would have the chance to move two points ahead, with only a couple of fixtures remaining.

Chelsea threw away the opportunity to lay their claim for fourth place on Monday night. After watching Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United lose over the weekend, Maurizio Sarri’s side drew 2-2 with Burnley in fitting style. That means they sit fourth, with three to play but it is still all to play for. On the road, the Blues have only won two of their last five league games, which is a concerning run of form. Whilst the title race has been at its brilliant best, the closest battle in seven years, the quality of the United, Arsenal and Chelsea, all vying for fourth is lower than normal. In any other season, each side would have little chance of making fourth but from an entertainment perspective, it’s great to see the results so tight.

Martin Atkinson is the referee for this fixture. The Englishman has officiated 41 top-flight matches this season. In that time, he has accumulated an average booking points total of 32.7. Therefore, I would advise a maximum of 50+ total points for this fixture.

This match is a tough game to predict, with both sides very inconsistent. United’s confidence is on the floor after a shocking week, which could come back to haunt them. I think this one might end all square, with both sides too scared of losing.

Manchester United vs Chelsea will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Premier League HD with kick off at 16:30 BST.

Leicester City vs Arsenal – Match Preview

Leicester City vs Arsenal
Sunday 28th April 2019
FA Premier League, King Power Stadium

Live on Sky Sports Premier League HD – Kick-Off: 12:00 BST

Leicester vs Arsenal: Arsenal will be hoping to bounce back from back-to-back defeats to reignite their push for a top-four finish when they take on Leicester City on Sunday.

The Gunners followed up their surprise 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday with a 3-1 midweek reverse at Wolves. Unai Emery’s side seem to have rediscovered their travel sickness after finding themselves second best to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side. Consecutive wins over Watford and Napoli had looked like ending their wretched away form but reality hit once again at Molineux. Those defeats have opened up the race for fourth spot once again, with Arsenal sat in fifth, a point behind Chelsea, with three games to go. The worrying thing for the Gunners is they’re back conceding goals after shipping six in their last two. With tricky away trips to Leicester, Valencia and Burnley still to come, their season’s success could be defined by their fixtures on the road.

Leicester’s hopes of finishing seventh remain in the balance after taking one point from their last two games. Brendan Rodgers’ side earned a respectable 2-2 draw with West Ham last time out after Newcastle had previously ended their four-game winning run. Jamie Vardy is enjoying Rodgers’ arrival and is in hot form. The Englishman has scored nine goals in his last ten matches including four in his last four. At the King Power, Leicester have won three of their last four games. The Foxes have only one win of their last 15 meetings with Arsenal but given the Gunners poor away form will give them confidence they can cause an upset.

Michael Oliver is the referee for this fixture. The Englishman has officiated 41 top-flight matches this season. In that time, he has accumulated an average booking points total of 33.7. Therefore, I would advise a maximum of 50+ total points for this fixture.

Arsenal’s poor run of the road leaves them vulnerable, especially against a side like Leicester who have so much pace on the counter-attack. I’m struggling to envisage Emery’s side winning this match and I think the Foxes will cause them enough problem to take a point.

Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United – Match Preview

Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United
Saturday 27 April 2019
FA Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Live on Sky Sports Premier League HD – Kick-Off: 12:30 GMT

Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United: Tottenham will be looking to re-establish their top-four hopes when they take on London rivals West Ham United.

Spurs bounced back to winning ways in midweek when they beat Brighton in midweek. Christian Eriksen’s late winner ensured Mauricio Pochettino’s side re-established third spot in the Premier League table with three games to go. Tottenham hold a three-point lead on Chelsea, who sit fourth, with the same number of games played. With a midweek clash against Ajax on the horizon, the Argentine chief may opt to rest a number of big names with that game in mind. Spurs’ form at the new stadium has been impressive to say the least. They have four wins under their belt, with eight goals scored and none conceded. That sort of form could be vital for next season as they look to build further momentum into the new season.

West Ham’s season is coming to a disappointing close after four defeats in their last five games. Those results have left the Hammers 11th in the table and eight points behind seventh-placed Wolves. A top-half finish would be deemed a success for Manuel Pelligrini’s side, especially given the injuries they have had to deal with. The Hammers haven’t won on the road in nine games, a run stretching back to the 27th December. In fairness, they have faced trips to Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and now North London in their last three away games but that is still a poor run that they will be looking to improve upon.

Anthony Taylor is the referee for this fixture. The Englishman has officiated 45 top-flight matches this season. In that time, he has accumulated an average booking points total of 31.7. Therefore, I would advise a maximum of 50+ total points for this fixture.

Tottenham’s home form, coupled with West Ham’s dire away form should mean for a Spurs win. Pochettino’s men are playing well and still buoyant from knocking out Manchester City. That buzz should see them through until the end of the season and should get them all three points here.

Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Premier League with kick off at 12:30 BST.
