Liverpool vs Chelsea – Match Preview

Liverpool vs Chelsea
Sunday 14th April 2019
FA Premier League, Anfield

Live on Sky Sports Premier League HD – Kick-Off: 16:30 BST

Liverpool vs Chelsea: Liverpool will be hoping to avoid another ‘slip up’ against Chelsea as they bid to boost their hopes of claiming a first ever Premier League title.

The Reds famously ‘slipped up’ against the Blues back in 2013/14, in their last real assault on the Premier League title. This time, the cards are different, with Jurgen Klopp’s side one-point ahead of rivals Manchester City, although they have played a game more. This game has an added dimension, with City kicking off at the earlier time of 2:05pm on Sunday, meaning Liverpool will know exactly what result they need against Maurizio Sarri’s side.

In truth, the Reds need three points, regardless of events at Selhurst Park. Liverpool will once again be defending their proud unbeaten league run at Anfield, bidding to stay top of the league, with only four games remaining. Consecutive wins over Southampton and Porto will have lifted their confidence, ahead of this crucial game. ‘Fortress Anfield’ should play its part – the Reds are the only side not to have lost at home in the Premier League.

Chelsea’s top four hopes are hanging in the balance. The Blues are fourth in the table, three points clear of Arsenal, although the Gunners have a game in hand. With that in mind, they can’t afford any slip-ups. N’Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Eden Hazard were all rested in their midweek 1-0 win over Slavia Prague in the first leg of their Europa League tie, highlighting where Maurizio Sarri sees his priorities. Chelsea have won all of their last three games, keeping as many clean sheets in the process. With a trip to Old Trafford also on the cards, the Blues do have their future in their own hands.

Michael Oliver is the referee for this fixture. The Englishman has officiated 39 top-flight matches this season. In that time, he has accumulated an average booking points total of 34.4. Therefore, I would advise a maximum of 50+ total points for this fixture.

Hazard’s stunning form will give Klopp’s side cause for concern. The Belgian is a match winner and with Chelsea needing the points, they need him more than ever. Liverpool are in desperate need of a win but I think they could drop points here.

Liverpool vs Chelsea will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Premier League with kick off at 16:30 BST.

Crystal Palace vs Manchester City – Match Preview

Crystal Palace vs Manchester City
Sunday 14th April 2019
FA Premier League, Selhurst Park

Live on Sky Sports Premier League HD – Kick-Off: 14:05 BST

Palace vs City: Manchester City will be hoping to return to winning ways and move back to the top of the Premier League with a win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

City will be hoping to bounce back from their midweek defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League. Pep Guardiola opted to leave out Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane and Bernardo Silva from that side in midweek, which raised a few eyebrows. Sergio Aguero’s penalty proved costly, as Son Heung-Min’s winner left them with all to do. City will be wary of taking on Palace after the Eagles beat them 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium back in December. Similarly, Palace almost beat City last season at Selhurst Park, with Ederson denying Luka Milivojevic’s 90th-minute penalty, with the score at 0-0. With that second leg looming on Wednesday night, it will be interesting to see what side Guardiola fields, knowing Liverpool are playing directly after them.

Palace secured their Premier League status last time out, with an important 1-0 win at Newcastle. That result leaves Palace 13th in the table, ten points clear of Cardiff City. The Bluebirds having only four more games to play. They have, however, only won one of their last three home games, drawing one and losing two. With Everton and Bournemouth also set to visit London before the season is out, the Eagles have a great opportunity to finish the season strongly.

Martin Atkinson is the referee for this fixture. The Englishman has officiated 39 top-flight matches this season. In that time, he has accumulated an average booking points total of 33.8. Therefore, I would advise a maximum of 50+ total points for this fixture.

I can’t help but feel there might be a twist in the title race on Sunday. Palace have had joy against City in recent games, which could be a telling sign. I am going to back the champions to nick a slender win, but don’t be shocked to see this one end level.

Crystal Palace vs Manchester City will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Premier League with kick off at 14:05 BST.

  • Popular Player Stats RequestABets – Aguero to score a header and Crystal Palace to score a penalty 150/1.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Huddersfield Town – Match Preview

Tottenham Hotspur vs Huddersfield Town
Saturday 13th April 2019
FA Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Live on Sky Sports Premier League HD – Kick-Off: 12:30 GMT

Tottenham Hotspur vs Huddersfield Town: Tottenham will be looking to make it three wins on the spin, to boost their hopes of a top-four finish when they host Huddersfield on Saturday lunch-time.

Spurs’ new stadium has had the desired effect so far, as they claimed wins over Crystal Palace and Manchester City in their new home. The victory over Palace lifted them to fourth in the table, two points behind Chelsea, who have played a game more. With Arsenal and Manchester United also breathing down their necks, they can’t afford to slip up at home to a side already relegated. Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be without Harry Kane, who looks set to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury after the Argentine boss described the Englishman’s chances of featuring again this campaign as “very difficult”. Without Kane, Heung-Min Son is expected to lead the line, or Spurs could turn to Fernando Llorente. Son scored the all-important winner in their Champions League win over City on Tuesday night.

Huddersfield are just playing for pride after being relegated back to the Championship a few weeks ago. That hasn’t sparked Jan Siewert’s team to life, however. The Terriers have lost their last five games, with their last win coming against Wolves in February. Similarly, their last win on the road was at Molineux, all the way back in November. Last time out, they were beaten 4-1 by Leicester City, meaning they’ve conceded 12 goals in their last four matches.

Lee Mason is the referee for this fixture. The Englishman has officiated 25 top-flight matches this season. In that time, he has accumulated an average booking points total of 35.8. Therefore, I would advise a maximum of 50+ total points for this fixture.

Tottenham have made light work of the ‘lesser’ sides this season, particularly at home. They will miss Kane’s presence in the side, but I would still expect to see them win, by a comfortable margin.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Huddersfield Town will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Premier League with kick off at 12:30 PM BST.

Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 Huddersfield Town

Suggested Tips – Tottenham Hotspur vs Huddersfield Town – (BET365):

  • First Goalscorer Son Heung-Min – (link no longer available).

Suggested Tips – Tottenham Hotspur vs Huddersfield Town – (SKYBET):

  • Price Boost – Christian Eriksen – 12/5.
  • Correct Score Group Betting – Leicester to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 – 15/8.
  • Popular Player Stats RequestABets – Moura to score from outside the area and Tottenham to score a penalty 80/1.
  • Popular Player Stats RequestABets – Llorente to score a header and Hogg to be carded – 14/1.

  • RequestABet Specials Up to 10/1 – Tottenham to score 2+ goals, 5+ Tottenham corners and 20+ match booking pts – 6/5.
  • RequestABet Specials Up to 10/1 – Heung-min & Erikson to score, Tottenham to win and BTTS – No – 8/1.
