Tottenham Hotspur vs PSV Eindhoven – Match Preview

Tottenham Hotspur vs PSV
Tuesday 6th November 2018, Wembley Stadium
UEFA Champions League – Group B Qualifier

BT Sport 2 – 20:00 GMT.

Tottenham vs PSV: Tottenham host PSV at Wembley Stadium, knowing anything other than a win will see them eliminated from the Champions League at the Group Stages.

After taking just one point from their opening three Champions League games, Tottenham know tomorrow’s game is a must-win fixture. They were denied a crucial three points by Luuk De Jong’s equaliser in Holland a fortnight ago after Hugo Lloris was sent off. The Frenchman will miss this match as a result, with Paulo Gazzaniga set to deputise in the captain’s absence. If Spurs are to progress they need three wins from remaining matches, to avoid dropping out of the Champions League. Dele Alli has been passed fit to play after missing their win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend, whilst Cristian Eriksen may also play after coming off the bench.

The Danish playmaker has been a big miss for Spurs as he looks to step up his fitness after injury. At the weekend, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura both impressed, so it will be interesting to see how Mauricio Pochettino fits everyone into the starting side. Moussa Sissoko has also been a revelation in recent weeks as he looks to transform his career in North London for the better. In the league, Spurs sit fourth, five points behind league-leaders Manchester City. They have won four of their last seven games in all competitions.

PSV head to the capital knowing they also need three points to keep their Champions League dreams alive. They will be buoyed by their dramatic equaliser two weeks ago and will be hoping to inflict more damage on Pochettino’s side. Hirving Lozano proved to be a livewire for PSV, causing issues for the first goal after robbing Toby Alderweireld before scoring. The pacey winger is on the radar of a number of Europe’s elite clubs, having caught the eye for Mexico in the World Cup this summer.

Ivan Kruzliak is the referee for this game. The Slovakian official has averaged 4.45 cards per game across 73 matches. As a result, I would advise a maximum of 50+ total booking points for this fixture.

Tottenham know they must win this game, or they are out. This will show the metal of Pochettino’s men, who have had their mental resilience questioned in the past. However, I think they will get the win they need, with Harry Kane to step up to the plate.

Tottenham Hotspur vs PSV will be televised live in the UK on BT Sport 2 with kick-off at 20:00.

Prediction: Tottenham 3-1 PSV

Crvena Zvezda vs Liverpool – Match Preview

Crvena Zvezda vs Liverpool
Tuesday 6th November 2018, Stadion Rajko Mitic
UEFA Champions League – Group C Qualifier

BT Sport 2 – 17:55 GMT.

Crvena Zvezda vs Liverpool: Liverpool will be looking to seal their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League when they take on Crvena Zvezda on Tuesday night.

The Reds bounced back to their defeat against Napoli with an emphatic 4-0 victory against Crvena Zvezda at Anfield. Mohamad Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane were all on the scoresheet as they romped to victory a fortnight ago. In the Premier League, it has also been smooth sailing for Jurgen Klopp’s side, as they maintained their unbeaten start to the league with a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the weekend. It was only the fifth goal that the Reds have conceded in the league this campaign, such has been their defensive improvement. The only disappointment for Klopp was that his team couldn’t hang on to their slender advantage as Alexandre Lacazette equalised with eight minutes of normal time remaining.

Liverpool know that a win in this match will all but seal their place in the knockout rounds of the Champions League. The Reds must still travel to PSG and host Napoli, but if they could take another three points from Red Star Belgrade, they would have nine points from four games. That would put them in a very strong position, with just two games to go in Group C. They will be without Xherdan Shaqiri for this game, who has been left out of the squad due to political reasons, given his Serbian background.

Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) sit bottom of Group C, with one point from their opening three fixtures. They currently top the Serbian SuperLiga, having taken 43 points from a possible 45 in the league. Their only defeats of the campaign have come in this competition, although it was a 6-1 loss at the hands of PSG and 4-0 to Liverpool. Richmond Boakye is their main source of goals, having scored five times in the league already this campaign.

Antonio Mateu Lahoz s the referee for this game. The Spanish official plies his trade in La Liga, where he has taken charge of five games this season. Across those matches, he has averaged four cards per game. As a result, I would advise a maximum of 50+ total booking points for this fixture.

Liverpool romped to victory when these sides last met at Anfield. I can’t see anything other than a repeat of that performance, which would put Liverpool in pole position in Group C.

Crvena Zvezda vs Liverpool will be televised live in the UK on BT Sport 2 with kick-off at 17:55.

Prediction: Crvena Zvezda 0-3 Liverpool

Huddersfield Town vs Fulham – Match Preview

Huddersfield Town vs Fulham
Monday 5th
 November 2018
FA Premier League, Kirklees Stadium

Live on Sky Sports Football – Kick-Off: 20:00 GMT

Huddersfield Town vs Fulham – Two of the early-season relegation favourites go head to head at the John Smith’s Stadium as Huddersfield Town host Fulham.

The Terriers are yet to win in the Premier League this season and currently sit bottom of the table. They’re the only side in the top flight yet to win this campaign and have just three draws to their name. With ten games gone, the writing seems to be on the wall for David Wagner’s side. Certainly, if they don’t invest in January they look destined to drop into the Championship. Huddersfield’s main issue has been scoring goals. They’re the lowest scorers in the league with just four goals in ten matches. They’re yet to score at home this season; a run of five league games. Last time out, they were convincingly beaten by Watford 3-0. As a result, this game feels like a proverbial ‘six-pointer’, even with only ten matches gone.

Similarly, Fulham have endured a torrid start to the campaign. Slaviska Jokanovic’s side have won just once this season and have lost their last seven league games. Having spent big in the summer, investing over £100M in the squad, the heat is starting to build on Jokanovic. They have the leakiest defence in the league, having conceded 28 goals in ten matches, an average of almost three per match. No matter what, no side can stay up leaking that number of goals. If they’re to get anything from this game, or the season, they must tighten up at the back. Offensively, the goals have also dried up. Fulham have scored just four goals in their last six games. Alexandar Mitrovic’s last strike came in September, a run he will need to end on Monday night if Fulham are to take anything from the game.

Anthony Taylor is the referee for Monday night’s clash. The Englishman has an average booking points total of 37, accumulated over ten top-flight matches. As a result, I would recommend a maximum of 50+ total points for this fixture.

This is a huge game for both sides. Jokanovic dare not lose this clash, or he could be fearing for his job. With Fulham leaking at the back, and Huddersfield unable to find the net, I see this being a low-scoring draw.

Where to watch the game:  Huddersfield Town vs Fulham will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Football with kick off at 20:00 GMT.
