Super Bowl 2018 – Match Betting Preview

In the biggest game of the year it’s time for the Super Bowl 2018 Prediction between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles!

The Eagles who finished number 1 in the NFC have gone from a presumed Super Bowl participant earlier this year, to big playoff underdog because of quarterback Carson Wentz’s injury, which turned the team over to QB Nick Foles. New England enters Super Bowl 52 as the favorite to repeat, with hall of fame QB Tom Brady building off an unprecedented comeback in Super Bowl 51 to have one of his best seasons, even at age 40.

The Eagles were the NFL’s No. 3 rushing offense in the regular season, averaging 4.5 yards per carry and 132.2 yards per game. The Patriots had the No. 20 rushing defense, giving up an average of 4.7 yards per carry and 114.8 yards per game. For the Eagles to win they will have to establish a run game early to control the ball.

Brady averaged 47 pass attempts per playoff game last year. This year, he’s averaged more than 45. The Patriots are comfortable with him dropping back that many times again, as the Eagles, even with their strong offensive front four, were tied for only 15th in sacks this season.

The Patriots are going for their sixth Super Bowl ring and have plenty of guys who have gone through winning a championships. Two of them now play for the Eagles, Blount and Long. The Eagles embraced their underdog status in the NFC playoffs, and the disrespect card will be played in their favor again. When it comes to coaching the Eagles are at a disadvantage as the Pats are coming in with arguably the greatest coach of all time.

I was wrong with both picks last win with upsets on both sides, in the biggest game of the season it’s easy to often times go with experience after all. For experience runs hand and hand with history and in this rematch in Super Bowl 52 I see the same result from Super Bowl 39. This game has the feel of a back-and-forth affair with neither team starting slow. It probably comes down the last possession, and Brady will need only one final minute to push the Patriots to victory and the first Super Bowl repeat since they beat the Eagles in Super Bowl 39.

The Super Bowl will be televised in the UK on Sky Sports and BBC 1.

Prediction: – I have the Patriots winning 30-27

NFL – Conference Championships Preview

The NFL Conference Championships are here this weekend with four teams battling it out for a spot at the Super Bowl on the 4th February 2018. Will the New England Patriots make it to the Super Bowl for a second consecutive year and win it?

Conference Championships

AFC: Jags at Patriots

The Pats are the number 1 seed and will be looking to go to their 8th Super Bowl this century. They are the favourites here at home and rightfully so, as they are the more experienced team on both sides of the ball and with their coaching. The Jags are the number 2 ranked defense in football, and pulled off the upset last week against the Steelers. The question being, are they on an emotional high from last week or are they focused on the main goal? The Jags have that destiny team attached to them and as the old saying goes, offense wins game, but defense wins championships! IN THE UPSET of the season and possibly in modern history, late in the game I have the Jags winning.

Jags To Win 24-21

Bortles: 285 YDS, 1 TDS

Fournette: 125 Total YDS, 2 Rushing TDs

Skybet RequestAbet 11/2 to 10/1 – Jacksonville to win match & R.Gronkowski & L.Fournette both to score a TD – 9/1

NFC: Vikings at Eagles

These top two teams in the conference meet with the SB berth on the line. The Vikings are looking to become the first team in NFL history to host a home Super Bowl game. Both QBs are new to this moment and because of that I see this as a defensive game. In that sense, the number 1 related defense in the league in the Minnesota Vikings will come up with more stops than the Eagles. On the road I have the Vikings making history.

Vikings To Win – 20-14

Keenum: 225 YDS, 2 TDS

Diggs: 88 YDs, 1 REC TD

Skybet To Score a Brace – Stefon Diggs – 10/1

**Win Double – Jags and Vikings to Both Win5/1 – (Skybet)**

NFL – Divisional Playoff Round Preview

The road to the Super Bowl continues as the divisional playoff round takes place this weekend after last week’s wildcard round. The top eight teams from the AFC and the NFC compete to reach the conference championships ahead of Super Bowl LII.

Divisional Playoff – Saturday

Falcons at Eagles ( NFC)

The Falcons have been hot these past 5 weeks and the defending NFC champs are looking to defend their crown. Meanwhile, the number 1 seed, the Eagles, are coming off their bye week which not only helps gain familiarity with their backup QB, but also gave them a chance to nurse injuries. The falcons are favored slightly and seemed to have figured things out on both sides of the ball. With the injury to their MVP candidate starting QB Carson Wentz, the Eagles haven’t looked the same therefore, in this one I expect them to compete but ultimately fall short.

Falcons to Win –  27-17

Ryan: 315 YDS, 3 TDs
Freeman: 105 Total YDS, 1 Rushing TD
Jones: 95 YDS, 1 REC TD

Skybet Handicap and Total Points – Atlanta Falcons -2.5 and Under 45.5 Total Match Points – 6/4

Titans at Patriots (AFC)

The Titans upset the Chiefs last week in their epic comeback win, they are on the road against the number 1 seed and defending SB champs in a game where weather will most likely play a role. Playing outdoors in sub 0 degree weather will limit big passing plays and time of possession will be key. While the Titans’ run game in the 2nd half last week was good, I don’t expect that momentum to carry over.

Patriots to Win – 24-14

Brady: 245 YDS, 2 TDs
Lewis: 88 YDS, 1 Rushing TD
Gronkowski: 85 YDS, 1 TD

Skybet Home Points – New England Patriots 0-25 Points – 2/1

Divisional Playoff – Sunday

Jaguars at Steelers (AFC)

When these two teams met earlier in the season the Jags dominated with their defense forcing 5 turnovers. The top rated pass defense will be facing a Steelers team off a bye, and a much better team than back in the early month of the season. The Jags offense hasn’t been consistent all year and on the road they will look towards their run game for any hope. In the end the Steelers are hungry, getting healthy and in revenge mode and as a result will be too much for the jags to handle.

Steelers to Win –  24-10

Roethlisberger:
265 YDS, 2 TDs
Bell: 140 YDS, 2 Rushing TDs
Brown: 115 YDS, 1 REC TD

Skybet Handicap and Total Points – Pittsburgh Steelers -7.5 and Under 42.5 Total Match Points – 9/4

Saints at Vikings ( NFC)

These two teams met in the first game of the season in which the Vikings won, however a whole lot has changed since. The number 2 seed Vikings coming off a bye are favored slightly and are looking to be the first team in NFL history to have a home Super Bowl game. Their top 3 rated defense has lead the way though will have a big task at hand facing the hot Saints offense. The Saints won a thriller last week and will be leaning on their veteran QB Drew Brees to lead them to victory. This will be the game of the weekend in my eyes. In a down to the wire game, I have the Saints on the road edging it out.

Saints to Win –  21-20

Brees: 255 YDS, 2 TDs
Kumara: 88 YDS
Ingram: 75 YDS, 1 Rush TD

Skybet Match Result – Saints to Win – 13/8

**4 Fold Win Accumulator – Falcons, Patriots, Steelers and the Saints ALL to WIN @ 5/1 (SkyBet)**
