Manchester United vs Manchester City – Match Preview

Manchester United vs Manchester City
Sunday 8th March 2020
FA Premier League, Old Trafford.

Live on Sky Sport Main Event, Kick-Off: 16:30 GMT.

Manchester United return to Old Trafford this weekend as they host Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday teatime.

Both Manchester clubs have displayed a good level of consistency in recent weeks, which has seen them have success in the Premier League, as well as on their European excursions. United cruised to a 6-1 aggregate win over Club Brugge in the Europe League a week ago and qualified for the Round of 16. Meanwhile City will take a 2-1 lead to the Etihad in the second leg of their Champions League tie against Real Madrid, following victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In the Premier League, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are unbeaten in their last four, and have risen as high as 5th where they trail 4th placed Chelsea by only three points.

Pep Guardiola’s side have distanced themselves and 3rd placed Leicester by opening up a seven-point deficit with a game in hand. City do still trail Liverpool by 22 points, and only four more wins would seal the title for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Manchester United won the earlier meeting in the league between these sides, winning 2-1 at the Etihad. Sunday’s meeting will be the fourth time these two sides have met this season following a two-legged affair in the Carabao cup semi-final, the competition which City won a week ago with a 2-1 win over Aston Villa. United have won two of the three meetings this season between the two, both at the Etihad.

A win on Sunday for United would seal a Premier League double over their Manchester rivals, something they haven’t done since 2009.

Mike Dean is the man in this middle for this one, and has been one of the harsher match officials this season, averaging just under five yellow cards per game in the Premier League. Dean took charge of the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at Old Trafford between these two where he awarded five yellow cards in City’s 3-1 win.

Manchester United vs Manchester City will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Premier Main Event HD with kick off at 16:30 GMT.

Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur – Match Preview

Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur
Saturday 7th March 2020.
FA Premier League, Turf Moor.

Live on Sky Sports Premier League – Kick-off: 17:30 GMT.

Burnley return to Turf Moor this weekend when they host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Both sides are lurking around one another in the league, and only two points separate Spurs in 7th, to Burnley in 9th.

Sean Dyche’s sides form since Christmas has been sublime and has put daylight between his side and the relegation zone; before Christmas, regelation looked a genuine possibility for the Clarets. Since Christmas, Burnley have lost three times which is the same amount of games they lost in December alone. Burnley are unbeaten in their last six matches, and in that time have beaten Manchester United and Leicester. Dyche’s side will head into Saturday’s encounter brimming with confidence.

Jose Mourinho’s Spurs side are without a win in all competitions since the middle of February, and have lost four on the bounce. Norwich dumped them out of the FA Cup on Wednesday night on penalties, and they face an uphill battle to stay in the Champions League, following their first-leg defeat to RB Leipzig two weeks ago. There is a feeling of disappointment surrounding Spurs currently.

Spurs head into Saturday’s clash with a tremendous record in this fixture, and have lost once to Burnley since 2014. Spurs have won seven of the last eleven meetings, including a 5-0 rout in December at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Burnley’s last win came last season, where they were victorious 2-1 at Turf Moor.

The referee for this clash is Jonathan Moss. The 49-year old has taken charge of nineteen Premier League this season and has awarded sixty-nine yellow cards in his nineteen appearances this season. I would recommend a minimum of 30+ booking points for Saturday evening’s clash.

Since the turn of the year Spurs are tied with West Ham, Aston Villa and Bournemouth for the most defeats in all competitions in 2020 (6). SkyBet have priced Burnley at 13/8 to win on Saturday evening.

Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur will be televised on Sky Sports Premier League HD and kicks off at 17:30.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth – Match Preview

Liverpool vs Bournemouth
Saturday 7th March 2020
FA Premier League, Anfield.

Live on BT Sport 1/Ultimate. Kick-off: 12:30pm GMT.

Liverpool return to Premier League action this weekend as they host Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will be desperate to get back on track following three defeats in their last four matches. Last weekend’s defeat to Watford ended the reds’ hopes of Premier League invincibility this season, but a win on Saturday would mean three more wins is all it wold take to get their hands on the Premier League title.

Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side on the other hand find themselves in a battle to avoid relegation and sit 18th. The Cherries are one of three sides on 27 points but occupy the third relegation spot due to their inferior goal difference.

Bournemouth have won only twice in the Premier League this year and have lost six of their ten matches in the Premier League since Christmas. Eddie Howe’s side have shipped seven goals in their last three games and face the near impossible task of shutting out the second highest scorers in the division on Saturday. They will however take confidence from Liverpool’s current form, as they’ve failed to score in their last two games on the bounce.

Liverpool have won the last five consecutive meetings in this fixture, and won the most recent clash 3-0 back in December. Bournemouth’s only win in this fixture came in December 2016 at the Vitality Stadium. The Cherries have never won at Anfield.

Paul Tierney is the referee for this one, and has averaged three yellow cards per game in his nineteen appearances in the Premier League. For Saturdays encounter, I would recommend a minimum of 20+ booking points.

Mohamed Salah has a 100% scoring record against Bournemouth in the Premier League, scoring seven times in his five appearances against the Cherries. SkyBet have Salah at 12/5 to open the scoring on Saturday lunchtime.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth will be televised live in the UK on BT Sport 1 with kick off at 12:30 PM.

Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Bournemouth
