England U21’s vs Poland U21’s – Match Preview – Aidy Boothroyd’s young Lions will play their final group match on Thursday 22nd June against the host nation, Poland. England had a very impressive second half performance against Slovakia in their last outing with goals from Swansea City’s Alfie Mawson and Southampton’s Nathan Redmond seeing England come out victorious, 2-1. Poland haven’t had their dream tournament in front of a home crowd, sitting bottom of Group A with one point.

England’s second half performance against Slovakia was the England side we expected to see this tournament, becoming more clinical in front of goal. The big expectations of this young English side haven’t seemed to have gotten into the young boys heads yet, as they currently lead Group A with four points. Nathan Redmond showed his class in the last match, not only scoring a goal but being the key danger man for the three lions. The bookmakers fancy England to win this and secure top spot in Group A, can they win and reach the semifinals?

The host nation, Poland, drew their last match against Sweden; the Polish took an early lead but were unable to sustain it, going behind and then rescuing a point with an injury time penalty. The Polish seemed to cracked under the pressure with the crowd behind their back and it seems very unlikely for them to qualify for the semi-finals, a disappointing early end for the Hosts. However, the Polish will pose a big threat to England, with attacker, Mariusz Stepinski, proving to be a big presence spearheading the Polish attack. It’s hard to see Poland overcoming the strength and depth of the English squad but with the tournament already providing some shocks, Poland will feel confident they can get a result.

Germany U21’s vs Denmark U21’s – Match Preview -Germany will face Denmark at the Under 21 European Championships in Poland this Wednesday. The Germans are heavy favourites entering the match after impressing in their opening fixture with a 2-0 win over the Czech Republic. The Danes will be looking to avenge their previous result, losing to five time winners of the U21 Euros, Italy. A victory will see Germany progress into the next round with ease, they are second favourites to win the tournament, fancy the Germans to go all the way?

The Germans will not take Denmark lightly, with the Danes being the only obstacle in the way of them and the semi-finals. Expect a very similar style of play from the young Germans with a high press and a very potent attack. Mexico vs New Zealand – Match Preview – Third place in Group A, Mexico, will play fourth place, New Zealand, in the second round of matches at the 2017 Confederations cup. Both sides underperformed in their opening matches with Mexico rescuing a point against Portugal with a late equaliser and New Zealand lost 2-0 to hosts, Russia. Mexico are heavy favourites to take away three points from the fixture due to their personnel with players such as Chicharito and Carlos Vela.

Mexico manager, Juan Carlos Osario, is confident his side can overcome the ‘New Zealand Spirit’ and get a win on Wednesday. The Mexicans left it late against the European Champions, Portugal, as they converted from an injury time equaliser in arguably the Confederations Cup most entertaining match yet. New Zealand will pose a very different threat to Mexico than Portugal did; their team cohesion being the largest factor in comparison with Portugal relying on Ronaldo. Osario has admitted he will be making changes to his starting side but three points is crucial if Mexico wish to progress in the tournament. Can the Mexicans get the job done?
