Bristol City vs Sheffield Wednesday – Match Preview

Bristol City vs Sheffield Wednesday
Sunday 28th June 2020
SkyBet Championship – Ashton Gate

Live on Sky Sports Main Event/Football – Kick-off: 12:00PM

Bristol City entertain Sheffield Wednesday in the latest instalment of SkyBet Championship action this weekend.

Both sides will be looking to return to winning ways in the league after failing to do so in their first match since the Championships’ resumption. Bristol City were dealt a blow to their play-off aspirations with a 3-1 defeat away to Blackburn meanwhile Sheffield Wednesday drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest.

Lee Johnson’s side are currently 10th, 2 points behind Preston who occupy the 4th and final play-off spot. A win this weekend would certainly help them get back on track. Wednesday on the other hand are 15th with no genuine hopes of promotion of worries of relegation.

Sheffield Wednesday were 1-0 winners in the reverse fixture back in December thanks to a late Barry Bannan penalty. Garry Monk’s side have been the epitome of inconsistent at times this season, and have only won four since Decembers meeting between these two. Wednesday come into this one priced at 13/8 on SkyBet to take all three points.

Bristol City have been pretty inconsistent themselves too this season, and have won only two of their last seven home encounters in the Championship.

Sheffield Wednesday have the much superior recent record in this fixture and have won four of the last seven, including the last three consecutive clashes. Bristol City’s last win in this fixture came back in March 2018.

The referee for this one is John Brooks. The 30-year old has overseen 22 Championship matches this season, accumulating a total of 81 yellow cards and 1 red card. Decembers meeting between these two produced four yellow cards. This all considered, I would recommend a minimum of 30+ booking points.

Nakhi Wells is Bristol City’s top scorer with 15 goals this season. SkyBet are offering odds of 2/1 for Wells to score anytime in this one.

This match will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event/Football, with kick-off scheduled to take place at 12:00PM on Sunday.

Prediction: Bristol City 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Leeds United vs Fulham – Match Preview

Leeds United vs Fulham
Saturday 27th June 2020
SkyBet Championship – Elland Road

Live on Sky Sports Main Event/Sky Sports Football – Kick-off: 15:00 BST

Leeds United return to Elland Road on Saturday when they host Fulham in the SkyBet Championship.

Both sides endured a difficult start on their return to Championship action, but will be hoping to put things right as the race for the Premier League hots up. Leeds were beaten 2-0 away to Cardiff meanwhile Fulham lost 2-0 at home to Brentford on the first match-day of the Championship’s resumption.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side relinquished top spot to West Brom following their defeat and trail the Baggies on goal difference. A win for Fulham this weekend would see them reduce the gap between themselves and Leeds to only four points as they chase down an automatic promotion spot. Fulham are currently just below Leeds in 3rd.

Fulham were 2-1 winners in the reverse fixture in December thanks to goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic and Josh Onomah. The visitors come into this one priced at 19/5 on SkyBet to claim all three points.

Leeds have won each of their last three home matches without conceding a goal. Fulham meanwhile are impressively unbeaten in their last seven away matches in the Championship. Something has got to give on Saturday afternoon.

Tony Harrington is the man in charge of this one. The Englishman has awarded 60 yellow cards and 3 red cards in 20 Championship appearances this season. December’s meeting between these two produced 7 yellow cards. I would recommend a minimum of 40+ booking points for this one.

Fulham’s Harry Arter has been yellow carded in his last two Championship appearances and is priced at 2/1 on Bet365 to be booked in this one.

Leeds United’s Tyler Roberts has scored 3 goals in his last 5 Championship starts. The 21-year old is priced at 15/8 on SkyBet to score anytime on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds United vs Fulham will be televised live on Sky Sports Main Event/Sky Sports football with kick off scheduled for 3PM this afternoon.

Aston Villa vs Wolves – Match Preview

Aston Vila vs Wolves
Saturday 27th June 2020
Premier League – Villa Park

Live on BT Sport 1HD/Ultimate – Kick-Off: 12:30 BST

Aston Villa return to Villa Park when they host Midland’s rivals Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.

Since the Premier Leagues return the form of these two sides couldn’t be too much more of a contrast. Villa have failed to win any of their three matches since the resumption (D2 L1) meanwhile their counterparts Wolves have won both of their encounters ad they chase down a Champions League spot.

Dean Smith’s side are 19th in the division and are one of three teams on 27 points, attempting to avoid relegation. Villa are 7 without a win in the league, with their last triumph coming at the end pf January. It’s testing times if you’re from a Villa persuasion.

Wolves meanwhile are going from strength to strength and are just two points behind Chelsea in 4th. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are unbeaten in 7 in the league and have won four of their last five.

Wolves ran out 2-1 winners in the reverse fixture back in November thanks to goals from Ruben Neves and Raul Jimenez. The Mexican has scored in both of his appearances since the leagues resumption, and 14 times in total this season. He is priced at 23/20 to score anytime in this one.

Villa have won 2 of the last 3 meetings in this fixture, with Wolves claiming the other win. In each of the last 3, BTTS has landed. Wolves to win and BTTS is priced at 3/1 on SkyBet.

Craig Pawson is the man in charge of this one. The 41-year old has taken charge of 17 Premier League affairs this season, brandishing 68 yellow cards and 2 red cards. November’s meeting between these two produced 7 yellow cards; I would recommend a minimum of 40+ booking points for this one.

Wolves’ Joao Moutinho has been booked in his last two Premier League appearances and was yellow carded back in Novembers meeting. The Portuguese is priced at 10/3 to be booked in 90 mins on Bet365.

This match will be televised live on BT Sport 1 with kick off scheduled to take place at 12:30 today.
