Sunday 14th June 2020
Bundesliga – Opel Arena

Live on BT Sport 1 – Kick-off: 14:30 BST

Mainz FSV return to the Opel Arena this weekend when they host Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon.

Its tight towards the bottom of the table, and only one point and two places separate these two sides ahead of kick off. The hosts Mainz boosted their bid to avoid relegation last weekend with a terrific 2-0 win away to Eintracht Frankfurt; their first win since the Bundesliga’s resumption. This weekend’s opponents Augsburg played out a 1-1 home draw against FC Koln.

Mainz find themselves in 13th place, four points above the relegation play-off position. Last weekend’s win was much needed, it was their first in five matches. Augsburg have struggled since the return of the Bundesliga, winning only once in five attempts.

The reverse fixture ended in a 2-1 home win for Augsburg and a similar result this time round would be just what they need to regain some stability to their season. Four yellow cards were brandished in December’s encounter, two for each side and SkyBet are offering odds of 4/7 for 40+ booking points in this one.

Augsburg have the much superior record in this fixture and have won the last four consecutive meetings. Of these encounters, BTTS has landed in three of four and is priced at 4/7 on SkyBet for this weekend.

Bayern Munich vs Borussia Monchengladbach – Match Preview

Bayern Munich vs Borussia Monchengladbach
Saturday 13th June 2020
Bundesliga – Allianz Arena

Live on BT Sport 1 – Kick-off: 17:30 BST

Runaway Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich return to action this weekend as they host Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday evening.

Bayern are more than sitting pretty at the summit of the Bundesliga and have a healthy seven-point lead over second placed Borussia Dortmund.

Since the resumption of the Bundesliga, Hans Dieter-Flick’s side have been the epitome of perfection. Bayern have won all five of their matches since the leagues continuation and are on a sixteen-match unbeaten run. They ran out 4-2 winners away to Bayer Leverkusen in their last league encounter.

Their opponents Borussia Monchengladbach will be looking to bounce back from last week’s disappointing defeat away to SC Freiburg. Marco Rose’s side are currently third in the Bundesliga and in a battle to secure Champions League football for next season.

December’s meeting between these two sides was arguably Bayern’s most poignant of the season, even though they ended up on the losing side. Their 2-1 defeat signalled the end of Niko Kovac’s dismal reign as manager, and kickstarted their surge back to the top of the Bundesliga where they are now chasing their eighth consecutive Bundesliga title. Ramy Bensebaini struck an unlikely brave in Monchengladbach’s win, and is priced at a massive 13/2 on SkyBet to score anytime.

It’s level pegging between these two in head to head terms. Both have won twice apiece in the last four encounters and following their earlier triumph this season, Monchengladbach will have a level of confidence ahead of Saturdays clash. Over 2.5 goals has landed in each of the last four encounters and is priced at 2/5 on SkyBet.

Monchengladbach’s Stefan Lainer is their most carded player this season with eight yellow cards in twenty-seven appearences. The Austrian has been carded in his last two appearences, and he’s priced at 21/10 to be carded in this one.

This match will be televised live on BT Sport 1HD, with kick-off scheduled to take place at 17:30 GMT.

Borussia Dortmund return to Bundesliga action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to face Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Lucien Favre’s side come into Saturday’s clash following a hard-fought victory over Hertha Berlin last Saturday. The only blemish on Dortmund’s record since the Bundesliga’s return was their De Klassiker defeat to fierce rivals Bayern Munich, a result which just about sealed Bayern’s fate as Champions barring a monumental capitulation. Dortmund are seven-points behind the league leaders.

Saturday’s clash is the start of what looks like a tough week for Dusseldorf. They welcome Dortmund before travelling to RB Leipzig on Wednesday night; two clashes against 2nd and 3rd in the division. Uwe Rosler’s side find themselves 16th in the league, truly in the thick of a relegation battle. Dusseldorf have won one of their five encounters since the leagues return.

The meeting in the reverse fixture ended in a 5-0 rout for Dortmund, with Marco Reus and Jadon Sancho both netting twice each. Reus returned to Dortmund training this week and faces a race to be fit for this one. Dortmund have won three of the last four meetings between these two sides. Dusseldorf’s only recent win came back in 2018 where they ran out 2-1 winners.

In three of the last four meetings in this fixture, BTTS has landed. This is priced at 4/6 on SkyBet. Over 3.5 goals has landed in the last three consecutive meetings and is priced at 11/10 to land in this one.

Dortmund have won their last four away matches in the Bundesliga by an aggregate scoreline of 12-2. This includes the 6-1 annihilation of strugglers Paderborn a fortnight ago. SkyBet are offering odds of a Dortmund win-to-nil at 6/4.

Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels has been yellow carded five times in the Bundesliga this season, including twice in his last three appearences. The German is priced at 4/1 on SkyBet to be booked on Saturday.

Meanwhile Dusseldorf’s Kaan Ayhan is second in the yellow card rankings this season with sixteen bookings in twenty-six appearences. He is priced at 6/4 on Bet365 to be carded on Saturday afternoon.
