Newcastle United vs Manchester City – Match Preview

Newcastle United vs Manchester City
Sunday 28th June 2020
FA Cup, St James’ Park

Live on BBC One HD – Kick-Off: 18:30 BST

Newcastle United will play host to Manchester City in their FA Cup quarter final this Sunday evening.

The Magpies overcame Championship high-flyers West Brom in an entertaining 3-2 victory away from home. Goals from Miguel Almiron and Valentino Lazaro sealed the victory. Meanwhile, City edged past second tier Sheffield Wednesday after a second half strike from Raheem Sterling.

Newcastle United are huge underdogs for this fixture and are priced at 12/1 by SkyBet to claim a shock victory to send them to the semi-finals. Steve Bruce’s side have been impressive since the season’s restart with a win and a draw so far. They have extended their unbeaten run to five matches in all competitions but face their toughest test in a while against a City side seeking revenge.

Going forward, Allan Saint-Maximin has been a breath of fresh air in the Newcastle attack and he is priced at 6/1 to score anytime.

Manchester City are expected to have an easy afternoon in the North East and are priced at 1/5 to win the match. Pep Guardiola’s side were beaten by Chelsea in midweek as Liverpool were crowned champions of the Premier League. City will now channel their focus into their remaining cup competitions, starting with this match. Whilst they did lose to Chelsea, they looked faster and fitter than before and will feel confident of advancing to the final four.

In attack, Kevin de Bruyne will hope to add to his season tally after a wonderful free-kick against Chelsea last time out. He is priced at 6/1 to open the scoring.

Last time these two met in the Premier League, City could only get a draw away at St James’ Park. Raheem Sterling gave City the lead which was cancelled out before half-time by Jetro Willems. However, Kevin de Bruyne’s late goal looked to have won it for Guardiola’s side but Jonjo Shelvey grabbed a late equaliser. 30 booking points were shown and SkyBet are offering 4/5 for 40+ booking points this time.

The match will be televised on BBC One HD and kicks off at 18:30.

Leicester City vs Chelsea – Match Preview

FA Cup, King Power Stadium

Live on BT Sport 1 HD – Kick-Off: 16:00 BST

Leicester City will play host to Chelsea as they battle it out in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The Foxes beat Championship side Brentford in the last round after an early Kelechi Iheanacho strike was enough to see them advance to the final eight. Meanwhile, the blues pulled off a mightily impressive victory over Premier League champions Liverpool with goals from Willian and Ross Barkley.

Leicester City will have a tough afternoon ahead of them at the King Power Stadium and are priced at 7/4 to win the match by SkyBet. Brendan Rodger’s side have most definitely felt the effects of the enforced break, as they have only managed to secure draws against Watford and Brighton. However, history could give them the slight edge as they were the last team to win this tie between the two clubs back in 2018. It has been draws ever since.

Going forward, Jamie Vardy has been his usual clinical self with 19 league goals this season and he is priced at 5/4 to score anytime.

Chelsea are slight favourites for this encounter and are priced at 6/4 to claim an away victory and advance to the final four. Frank Lampard’s side enter this fixture off the back of an incredible 2-1 victory over Manchester City that handed Liverpool their first Premier League title. Christian Pulisic and Willian found the net as the Blues made it five wins in a row in all competitions. They have looked fitter and sharper than others since the restart of football.

In attack, Christian Pulisic has looked very lively since returning from injury and is priced at 23/10 to score anytime.

Last time these two met in the Premier League, a crazy second half saw them draw 2-2 at the King Power Stadium. Harvey Barnes and Chelsea target Ben Chilwell scored for the Foxes but an Antonio Rudiger brace ensured they shared the points back in February.

The match will be televised on BT Sport 1 HD and kicks off at 16:00.

Prediction: Leicester City 1-2 Chelsea

– The visitors mean business as they have had key players return from injury. Will be close but fancy them to pip it.

Suggested Tips – Leicester City vs Chelsea (BET365)

  • Correct score: Leicester City 1-2 Chelsea – (link no longer available).
  • Anytime goalscorer: Christian Pulisic – (link no longer available).

Sheffield United vs Arsenal – Match Preview

Sheffield United vs Arsenal
Sunday 28th June 2020
FA Cup, Brammall Lane

Live on BT Sport 1 HD – Kick-Off: 13:00 BST

Sheffield United will host Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The Blades got past Championship side Reading in the last round, after a Billy Sharp strike in extra-time booked their spot in the final eight. Meanwhile, comfortably beat League One Portsmouth with goals from Sokratis and Eddie Nketiah back in March.

Sheffield United are underdogs for this match despite having home advantage and are priced at 15/8 to win by SkyBet. The Blades have been slow to get going since they returned to the pitch in the Premier League – with two straight 3-0 defeats at the hands of Newcastle and Manchester United after a draw with Aston Villa. However, they are yet to play at home – where they boast an impressive four wins from their last six matches.

In attack, Oli McBurnie is likely to feature after Lys Mousset picked up a foot injury and is priced at 12/5 to score anytime.

Arsenal will have to improve on their performance in their win against Southampton on the weekend and are priced at 7/5 to advance into the final four with a win in 90 minutes. Mikel Arteta’s side finally blew a sigh of relief after their 2-0 win over the Saints but life has not been easy since the restart. They have suffered several injuries to key players and have been embarrassed by Brighton and Manchester City. They face an out-of-sorts Sheffield United, but how they approach this match is anyone’s guess.

In attack, talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is likely to start and is priced at 11/8 to score anytime

Last time these two met in the Premier League, a late John Fleck goal cancelled out Martinelli’s strike on the stroke of half-time. 30 booking points were brandished as they shared the points back in January. SkyBet are offering 13/8 for 50+ booking points this time around.

Sheffield United vs Arsenal will be televised on BT Sport 1 HD and kicks off at 13:00 BST.

Prediction: Sheffield United 1-1 Arsenal

– Neither side has been at their best since returning so they could need extra-time and penalties to settle this one.

  • Correct score: Sheffield United 1-1 Arsenal – (link no longer available).
  • Anytime goalscorer: Pierre Emerick Aubameyang – (link no longer available).
