Match Betting Preview - Everton vs Manchester City, Saturday 28th September 2019 - Premier League game at Goodison Park Stadium.

Everton v Manchester City
Saturday 28th September 2019

FA Premier League, Goodison Park

Live on Sky Sports Main Event – Kick Off: 17:30 BST

The Saturday late kick-off sees Man City travel to Goodison Park to take on the Toffees.

Manchester City may not be at the top of the table but they absolutely annihilated Watford last week with an impressive 8-0 masterclass. Their level of play this season so far has been different gravy, apart from that shock Norwich defeat. They are five points behind top of the league Liverpool so really need to focus and win points whenever they can to close that gap.

Everton come into this having suffered two successive defeats to Sheffield United and Bournemouth. However, their goal form at home was pretty decent until the last match against the Blades. They created good chances but only had the one shot on target, their performance was a lot better than the final score.

City will come out all guns blazing to keep their bid for the title alive. They were spectacular against Watford and having read Watford’s keeper Ben Foster’s comments after the game “They were scary at times. It was just relentless. You could see them opening us up and the chances developing in front of your eyes. It was absolutely no fun. In all honesty, it could have been double digits.” I can see them scoring a few goals again this time out.

Everton have conceded seven goals in their last three league matches so their defence looks to be a problem. With this in mind, City to win 3-0 is currently 17/2 with bet365 and looks to be a bet for me.

Since Marco Silva took charge, Everton haven’t really made much of an improvement and seem to making the same mistakes over and over again. They also seem to have a problem with scoring goals at times which is another reason I feel it could be goalless for them.

Raheem Sterling was back on top form on Tuesday night when they played Preston in the EFL Cup. Having not played in the Watford game, he nicked a goal and a nice assist all within 35 minutes. Bet365 are top price 4/1 for him to be first goalscorer. Richarlison looks to be Everton’s most likely first goalscorer and at may tempt a lot of punters with the 11/1 available at Skybet.

I just cannot see Everton beating City and it’s no surprise to see City 3/10 to win the game. .

Everton vs Manchester City will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports with kick off at 17:30 BST.

Prediction: Everton 0 – 3 Manchester City

Match Betting Preview - Sheffield United vs Liverpool, Saturday 28th September 2019 - FA Premier League game at Bramall Lane Stadium.

Sheffield United vs Liverpool
Saturday 28th September 2019

FA Premier League, Bramall Lane

Live on BT Sport – Kick Off: 12:30 BST

Liverpool will be looking to continue their unbeaten streak when they head to Bramall Lane for the early kick-off on Saturday.

Klopp’s men are in top form at the moment winning all of their six games on the bounce to kick start their 2019/20 Premier League season. They have already opened up a five-point lead over second in the table, Manchester City

However, The Blades will be fielding a full team following their midweek 1-0 defeat against Sunderland. Chris Wilder’s side are currently sitting 10th in the table and have started the season in decent fashion, not giving points away easily.

It’s really hard to see this going Sheffield’s way even at the 8/1 available with bet365, I couldn’t back them for the win, even with counterfeit money. I can see them coming out and going for it like Norwich City and playing on the front foot but I just don’t see the same result.

Sheffield have a fairly talented squad truth be told but they are just lacking class finishers. Liverpool however ooze attacking skills and I could see them winning this with a score like 3-1, which at best price 11/1 with bet365 is a bet for me. The Blades have only failed to score in one of their six EPL games this season, so I have a feeling they might bang one in.

Goals from Roberto Firmino and Trent Alexander-Arnold against Chelsea saw Premier League history made as they became the first side to win their first six opening games in consecutive seasons. With all this in mind I just cannot see Liverpool not coming out of this with three points.

The referee for the match will be Anthony Taylor. Taylor has shown more yellow cards early on the season than any other referee. He has refereed five United games, and sent off Basham in a 3-0 win over Blackburn Rovers last season. The Blades have however been given three penalties across the five matches from Taylor.

Sheffield United vs Liverpool will be televised live in the UK on BT Sport with kick off at 12:30 BST.

Prediction: Sheffield United 1 – 3 Liverpool

Norwich City vs Manchester City - Saturday 14th August 2019, FA Premier League, Carrow Road. Live on Sky Sports Premier League – Kick-Off: 17:30 BST.

Norwich City vs Manchester City
Saturday 14th September 2019
FA Premier League, Carrow Road

Sky Sports Premier League – 17:30 BST

Manchester City will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the Premier League season with another three points against Norwich City at Carrow Road.

Pep Guardiola’s side trail Liverpool by two points in the race for the title. City’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur is the difference between the two sides, with the champions taking maximum points in every other fixture. They’ll be without Aymeric Laporte for a few months with a knee injury which will call on Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones to step up to the plate. Fernandinho and Kyle Walker are City’s only other make-shift options at the heart of their defence.

Raheem Sterling has made a sensational start to the new season. The winger has seven goals in six appearances this season for club and country. Alongside Sergio Aguero and Bernardo Silva, they have the deadliest attack in the league with playmakers such as Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva feeding them at will. As a result, they should have some joy against a porous Norwich defence.

Norwich have one win and three points to their name after four league fixtures. That victory came against Newcastle United, another team in a relegation dog fight. Their form at Carrow Road will be vital and having run Chelsea close a few weeks ago, City will need to be wary of the threat they can pose teams.

The Canaries’ expansive style may leave them open at times, but it also makes them dangerous against every side. In their fixtures against Liverpool and Chelsea this season they’ve scored three goals, which shows they can hurt superior opposition. Of course, their main man is Teemu Pukki, who has scored all but one of their Premier League goals this season.

Kevin Friend is the referee for Saturday tea-time’s match. The Englishman racked up an average booking points total of 60, across 3 Premier League matches this season. With that in mind, I would recommend a maximum of 60+ booking points for this fixture.

City look imperious and with the way Norwich are conceding goals, I can only see one winner. As previous clashes against the top six have shown, I wouldn’t bet against the Canaries getting on the score sheet.

Norwich vs Manchester City will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Premier League with kick off at 17:30 GMT.

Prediction: Norwich City 1-3 Manchester City

Suggested Tips – Norwich City vs Manchester City – (BET365)

  • Correct Score – Manchester City to win 3-1 – (link no longer available).
  • First Goalscorer – Raheem Sterling – (link no longer available).

Suggested Tips – Norwich City vs Manchester City (SKYBET)

  • Both Players To Score – Sergio Augero and Teemu Pukki – 14/5.
  • Full Time Result and Both Team to Score – Manchester City and Yes – 1/1.

The Aegon Championships (Queen’s Club) - Tournament Preview

The Aegon Championships, more commonly known as Queen’s, starts on the 19th June, with the final being played on the 25th. Queen’s is the traditional curtain-raiser for Wimbledon and represents a chance for the competitors to fine tune their form ahead of what is one of the most prestigious competitions of the year.

Andy Murray

Murray will be hoping to break records with a sixth Queen’s win as he looks to successfully defend his title. The Scot claimed success here last year, weeks before winning Wimbledon, and will be hoping to do the same again this year. Murray hasn’t won a grand slam since winning Wimbledon almost a year ago, but did manage to make the semi-finals of the French Open, narrowly losing out to Stan Wawrinka. These were encouraging signs for Murray, who is hoping to hit form at just the right time in order to win a third Wimbledon title. He goes in to Queen’s as the huge favourite, despite his indifferent form.

Stan Wawrinka

Wawrinka will be hoping to lay down a marker as he looks to challenge for a third grand slam title. After losing out in straight sets to Rafael Nadal in the French Open final, Wawrinka will be hoping to go one step better. The world number three is the second highest seeded player at Queen’s and after beating Murray in the semi-finals of the French Open, he will feel confident of doing the same again.

Skybet Outright Winner – Stan Wawrinka – 12/1

Raonic reached the final last year at Queens Photo Credit: skysports.com

Milos Raonic

After losing out to Murray in last year’s final, Raonic will be even more determined to win his first Queen’s title. Now ranked sixth in the world, the Canadian will see Queen’s as an opportunity to make a statement, with Novak Djokovic, Rodger Federer and Nadal not competing. Raonic is yet to win a grand slam, and will be hoping Queen’s can set himself up for Wimbledon glory.

Skybet Outright Winner – Milos Raonic – 11/2

 Dark horses

If you’re looking for a well-priced long shot at Queen’s, then Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Tomas Berdych are great value. Ranked 11th and 14th in the World respectably, both have shown in the past they are more than capable of going the distance. Tsonga reached the quarter finals of Wimbledon last year, and the semi-finals in both 2011 and 2012. Berdych by comparison was beaten in the semi-final of the competition by last year’s winner, Murray.

Skybet Outright Winner – Jo-Wilfried Tsonga – 20/1

Skybet Outright Winner Tomas Berdych – 16/1

Juventus vs Real Madrid - Match Preview

Champions League Final, Principality Stadium, Cardiff 7.45pm

Juventus vs Real Madrid – Match Preview – It’s the holy grail of European trophies. Under the bright Cardiff street lights, Juventus and Real Madrid fans will pour into the Principality Stadium in anticipation, hoping their side can grasp the two large handles on the Champions League trophy on Saturday 3rd June.

Real Madrid will be looking to defend their title, and if successful, will be the first team since 1989 to win back-to-back European trophies. AC Milan were the last side to do so; defeating Benfica 1-0 in 1989-90 season following their previous success in 1988-89.

Juventus have reached the final eight times in their history. The Italian giants have been triumphant in two of those eight finals; in 1985 and 1996. ‘The Old Lady’ most recently featured in the 2015 final against Barcelona and lost, 3-1. Now Real Madrid striker, Alvaro Morata, scored for Juventus and will now be hoping he can beat his old side on Saturday.

Welsh winger, Gareth Bale, was announced in the Champions League final squad after a six-week injury that left his potential dream return to his hometown for the final in the balance. Bale has had a mixed season having been unfortunate with injury for most of it. If Bale does feature for ‘Los Blancos’, will he create some magic back in his hometown, Cardiff?

Skybet Anytime Goalscorer – Gareth Bale to score Anytime in 90 mins – 5/2

Juventus have progressed through the tournament in typical Juventus style; well drilled at the back, a tireless midfield and natural goal scorers among their arsenal. Gonzalo Higuain has been in sublime form this season, having moved to Juventus in 2016 for a whopping £75 million. The Argentine has delivered on his price tag, having scored 24 goals in 38 matches. Can Gonzalo strike again on Europe’s biggest stage?

Team News

As aforementioned, Zinedine Zidane has a huge decision to make regarding Gareth Bale and whether to start him over Isco. Isco has played an important part in Madrid’s La Liga title win this season.

Pepe is set to miss the final with broken ribs, meaning Raphael Varane is likely to start with Sergio Ramos at the back. Can those two create a formidable partnership?

Right back, Dani Alves, has been one of the stars of the Champions League and will look to continue his impressive form having popped up with a few crucial goals. Can he score in one of the most important matches of his career?

Huddersfield Town vs Reading - Match Preview

Skybet Championship Playoff Final, Wembley, London 3pm

It’s football’s most expensive match, Wembley Way will be full to the brim of Reading FC and Huddersfield Town fans as their teams fight for a spot in the most watched football league on the planet, the Premier League.

As a fan, it can be the most nerve-racking, nail-biting, heart-breaking match to watch. It can also be magical. Heroes are birthed in play-off finals, names are forever remembered and history continues to be written under the Wembley arch. For both Reading FC and Huddersfield Town, they will be praying for that moment of elation when the final whistle will be blown, not the tearful misery of failure.

Reading FC are no strangers to the play-offs. However, they enter the match with a certain aura and swagger that many did not expect them to possess. Their ability to keep possession and score at vital times has helped their meteoric rise to the high-end of the table for most of the season. Led by Manchester United legend, Jaap Stam, ‘The Royals’ will look to impose their style of play early on Monday night; attempting to control the tempo of the match and dictate the flow, using their key players such as clinical striker, Yann Kermorgant and playmaker, John Swift. Kermorgant scored the crucial goal to help Reading reach the final, will he strike again?

Skybet Anytime Goalscorer – Yann Kermorgant to score Anytime in 90 mins – 9/4

Huddersfield Town have been the surprise package from the Championship this season. They have continued to defy the odds following their poor campaign last year, finishing 19th just avoiding relegation. With head coach, David Wagner, and an ensemble of young loanees’ and signings, they have become an unexpected force to be reckoned with. Their potent attack and rigid defence saw them fight off strong opposition in Sheffield Wednesday in the semi-final tie, overcoming the Championship giants on penalties to reach the final. Aaron Mooy has been delightful for ‘The Terriers’, popping up in key moments with brilliant set-pieces and goals. Will the Australian continue  his impressive season with a goal at Wembley Stadium?

Reading will be hoping Jordan Obita, who scored in the semi-final first leg vs Fulham, will be fit and available after picking up an ankle injury.

Gareth McCleary could also get a start, after coming off the bench in the 1-0 win over Fulham.

Jaap Stam will have some big decisions to make, can he lead his squad to the Premier League?

Skybet To Lift The Trophy – Reading – 6/5

Huddersfield Town have no fresh injury worries and could name the same starting XI that beat Sheffield Wednesday.

Chelsea loanee, Kasey Palmer, could be fit after being side-lined for three months with a hamstring injury.

Can Wagner complete what has already been a glorious season with promotion to the Premier League?

French Cup Final, Stade de France, Saint – Denis 8pm

Ligue 1 runners-up PSG are seeking their third consecutive Coupe de France title against underdogs Angers SCO at Stade de France.

The home of French football, Stade de France, could host one of the true underdog stories as The Parisian goliaths face trophy-less Angers in France’s premier knockout cup competition.

PSG have had a very poor season by their own ambitious standards and as such manager Unai Emery’s job is under intense scrutiny. Accustomed to success; especially domestically, missing out to a brilliant Monaco side in Ligue 1 by 8 points will have been a massive blow. Even worse was the humiliating manner in which the Spanish manager’s side threw a commanding 4-0 lead against Barcelona in the Champions League – losing 6-1 in the second leg and consequentially being ejected from the competition as early as the last 16 stage.

The only silverware won this campaign by the ex-Valencia and Sevilla manager’s side has been the Coupe de la Ligue; crushing French Champions Monaco 4-1 in the final.
Winning the Coupe de France – and therefore the domestic club double – could be Emery’s only salvation as he fights for his job. The Spaniard is no stranger to success in cup competitions; having guided Sevilla to three consecutive Europa League titles during his time in Seville.

Stephane Moulin’s men finished in a commendable 12th position in Ligue 1 but have never won a trophy in the club’s history. In fact, this is the first cup final Angers have got to for 60 years – making PSG massive favourites to take the crown.

Angers displayed their fighting spirit in a resilient 2-0 semi-final victory over Guingamp; in the last minute Guingamp forward Jimmy Briand missed a penalty before Karl Toko Ekambi went up the other end to finish the tie in injury time.
PSG reached the final by demolishing domestic rivals Monaco 5-0 with a stunning performance in the semis, courtesy of a Blaise Matuidi goal an assist.

PSG have won 13 of their last 16 league matches so will come into this one in red hot form, Angers on the other hand have lost 6 of their last 10 – but picked up two consecutive wins to end the season which will help build confidence.

Team News
PSG will be thankful they have an embarrassment of riches to call upon in their squad, as full backs Thomas Meunier and Layvin Kurzawa are both ruled out – Maxwell and Serge Aurier are both set to start in their place. Grzegorz Krychowiak is also out of contention. Hatem Ben Arfa and Marco Veratti are both doubts but should be fit enough to make the squad.

Angers will want to be at full strength for the challenge of the French giants – but will be without defenders Pablo Martinez and Yoann Andreu are ruled out alongside striker Billy Ketkeophomphone. Abdoulaye Bamba remains a doubt for the final.

Edinson Cavani has scored 35 goals in Ligue 1 this season

Players to Watch
This match is likely to boil down to whether the PSG players can reach the standards expected to see the job through. Hence two key players for the Parisians are noted here.
Edison Cavani is a player that often divides opinion. Irrespective of his perceived efficiency or whether he was the man to replace the cataclysmic hole left by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Uruguayan’s output is phenomenal – 35 goals in Ligue 1 is only bettered by Lionel Messi’s 37 in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season. Blessed with athleticism and incredible movement of the ball and with a gifted knack for being in the right place at the right time; 49 goals in all competitions this season highlights the danger of the ex-Napoli man. It is a certainty that PSG are going to create chances, if Cavani puts them away then Angers won’t have a prayer of winning this tournament.

Thiago Silva is a man that leads by example – the PSG captain puts his body on the line in aid of his team and uses his leadership qualities to calm his side down when needed. The Brazillian international is the second most expensive defender in history after moving from Italian giants AC Milan to the French capital. Thiago Silva is an excellent reader of the game and often snuffs out opportunities before the danger presents itself, his ability on the ball then helps the team push forward.
61 caps for Brazil in a trophy-laden career speaks volumes of one of the world’s highest-rated defenders and on his day can give nightmares to even the very best strikers.

Suggested Tips:

  • Skybet RequestAbet Up to 10/1 – Paris St Germain to score 2+ goals and 8+ Paris St Germain corners – 2/1
  • Skybet 11/1 to 28/1 – A penalty awarded and a player sent off – 11/1
