Liverpool host Genk in Champions League action this Tuesday as their hectic schedule continues.

Jurgen Klopp’s side continue to get over the line by any means necessary and they left it late on the weekend against Aston Villa. Chelsea return to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night as they host Ajax on match-day four of the UEFA Champions League.

Frank Lampard’s side enter Tuesday night’s clash in fine form, and currently sit top of the pile in Group H. Chelsea have won their last two CL fixtures, after losing their opening group match to Valencia 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Saturday’s 2-1 Premier League triumph over strugglers Watford was the Blues fifth successive away win in the league, which has seen them climb to fourth in the table. Lampard’s side have lost once in their last eleven in all competitions, which was to Manchester United in the Carabao Cup lastWednesday.

Their opponents Ajax come into Tuesday night’s clash second in the group, following their defeat on matchday three to Chelsea. Michy Batshuayi’s 86^th minute strike condemned Ajax to their first defeat at home this season, following their impeccable start to this year’s Eredivisie campaign.

Erik Ten Haag’s side are unbeaten in twelve league matches so far this season and have already opened up a six-point lead at the top of the Dutch first tier. Stoke return to the Bet 365 stadium as they welcome league leaders West Brom on Monday evening in the Championship.

Stoke are once again on the search for a new manager, following the dismissal of boss Nathan Jones on Friday morning. City’s next managerial appointment will be their third since 2018.

The Potters have endured a torrid beginning to this seasons campaign, and find themselves 23^rd, with only two wins all season. Last time. Round they were defeated 2-0 away to Millwall, a match where the familiar face of former Manager Gary Rowett was in the opposing dugout, his first match in charge of the Lions.

The current form of Monday evenings opponents couldn’t be more of a contrast. Albion currently sit top of the pile in the Championship, and have lost only once all season. Crystal Palace return to Selhurst Park this weekend and welcome the arrival of Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Roy Hodgson’s side will be full of confidence following last weekend’s 2-2 draw away to Arsenal, a match where they showed admirable character to come from 2-0 down and come away with a share of the spoils. Palace have enjoyed a bright start to this seasons Premier League campaign, where they find themselves in 6^th place.

Both clubs will be relatively happy with their seasons so far. Both are in the large chunk of teams pushing for promotion places. The Hornets are still the only side in the division yet to taste a league victory this season, and many are predicting that to still be the case following this weekends clash.
