Manchester City begin their 2019/20 UEFA Champions League campaign with a trip to Ukraine as they face Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday night.

The Gunners head to Watford for the late kick-off on Sunday, as the Premier League returns after the International break.

Arsenal’s last two games are a bit of a sore subject in our house, after they failed to beat Liverpool and then drew with Spurs. The Hornets are still searching for that elusive first win this season, and will maybe be lacking in confidence following the  sacking of Javi Garcia at the weekend and sitting at the bottom of the table.

Arsenal have a great record against Watford so the evens for the win with skybet isn’t much of a surprise. The 13/5 for a Watford doesn’t look appetizing even though returning boss Flores will be desperate to nick the three points.

I expect to see lots of goal chances with the likes of Lacazette, Aubameyang & Pepe in attack, however a poor Arsenal defense could see Watford put a goal away, so the 1/2 with bet365 for both teams to score could be a bit of value here.

This is the start to a very busy string of engagements for Arsenal, who will play five games in just 15 days. However, I see the Gunners being confident given Watford still just have one point from five games.

There’s also further good news for Arsenal as Willcock will be available after his calf problem, however Xhaka looks doubtful due to Achilles pain the past few weeks. Mavropanos is still out but Bellerin and Tierney both returned to training but won’t be lining up this weekend.

Deeney is still out of action for The Hornets but apart from that they seem to have a fighting fit squad.

With all that in mind I do think The Arsenal definitely have the firepower to win this clash but need to sort out their weak defensive display as shown in the Tottenham game. That said – it doesn’t seem as though Watford’s is any better!

The referee for the match will be Anthony Taylor. Taylor refereed the gunners last defeat and has average 40 booking points in the 4 games he’s refereed so far this season. Bournemouth return to Premier League action as they face Everton at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Cherries come into this fixture following back to back defeats prior to the international break. Eddie Howe’s side currently sit 15th in the league, winning only one of their opening four fixtures, which was the 2-1 away win at Aston Villa. The visitors meanwhile come to the south coast in a much more positive vein of form. Marco Silva’s Everton side entered the International break with a win, an impressive one at that, the 3-2 triumph over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Despite Bournemouth’s inconsistencies, there has been one constant, which has been their ability to find the back of the net. The Cherries have netted in each of their four fixtures this season, and I don’t see that changing this Sunday. Bournemouth to score 2+ goals is priced at 11/8 on SkyBet.

Everton on the other hand began the season scoring only once in their opening three league fixtures.  However, the Toffee’s have netted seven in their last two matches, with summer Brazilian Richarlison grabbing three of the seven. In addition, Richarlison’s last two goals have been scored with his head, and SkyBet are offering odds of 12/1 for the Brazilian to make it a hat-trick of headed goals this weekend.

Since the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Bournemouth’s Harry Wilson has scored more goals from outside the area than any other player in English football, with eight. The Welshman on loan from Liverpool has already netted twice this season, both being outside the area. SkyBet are offering odds of 8/1 for Wilson to score another from outside the area.

Paul Tierney is the man in the middle for Sunday’s fixture. The 38-year old has appeared twice in the Premier League this season and has awarded nine yellow cards and zero red cards. Off that, I would recommend a maximum of 50+ booking points.

Both sides will be relishing their return to Premier League action following the International break. Bournemouth will be desperate to return to winning ways after failing to do so in their last two, whereas Everton will be anxious to build on their strong start to the campaign. I am predicting an away win but wouldn’t be surprised if we see a scored draw. I feel that BTTS is a safe call for this one, considering the recent goalscoring form of these two sides.

Danny Cowley and Garry Monk will both make their managerial debuts in this Yorkshire derby as Huddersfield Town look to address their poor start to the season against Sheffield Wednesday.

The Terriers sit second-bottom of the Championship after six games, with only a point to their name. They’re on a 17-game winless run, which stretches back to April. As a result, Cowley’s first task will be to get three points on the board. The former Lincoln City boss was named as Jan Siewert’s successor on Monday. There were links that Cowley could have been in the away dugout for this clash but those reports proved to be untrue.

Cowley’s first task is to change the losing mindset surrounding Huddersfield. Having dropped out from the Premier League they’re in free fall and have lost belief they can win matches. Whilst their squad isn’t amazing, it’s more than capable of competing in the top half of the table. Karlan Grant is their main source of goals, with the former Charlton striker bagging four goals already this term.

Sheffield Wednesday ended their managerial uncertainty with the appointment of Monk last Friday. The former Leeds United boss has been out of work since leaving Birmingham City in the summer. This is his fifth Championship job in as many years but it is widely accepted he’s done a good job in each of his roles, bar Middlesbrough. He’ll look to inject some life into the Owls, who’ve been without a permanent manager since Steve Bruce left.

Wednesday have made an average start to the season, with three wins and three defeats from six games. After back-to-back wins at the start of the season, one win in four has followed. A disappointing defeat to Queens Park Rangers was a lowlight of the season before the International break. The Owls do have quality players, though. Barry Bannan can pull the strings in midfield, whilst Kadeem Harris will provide a threat down the left-hand side. If Monk can get those two playing to their best, the Owls can be a real force in the play-off race.

Simon Hooper is the referee for Sunday’s match. The Englishman racked up an average booking points total of 41, across 21 Championship matches last season. With that in mind, I would recommend a maximum of 60+ booking points for this fixture.

Both managers will be desperate to win their first game but equally won’t want to lose. I think both teams will raise their game to impress their new bosses, which could see the game end all square.
