Defending Champions of Europe Liverpool travel to Belgium on Tuesday to face Gent on Matchday three of the UEFA Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side got points on the board at the second time of asking in Group E following their   4-3 victory over Red Bull Salzburg; a game in which the Austrian side showed tremendous character to come from 3-0 and level at 3-3. Mohamed Salah’s strike in the closing stages secured all three points for the Reds, but they were given one hell of a scare.

Genk are the only side in the group yet to register a win but will take a lot of encouragement from Liverpool’s recent European away form, especially in the Group stages. Ajax host Chelsea in Champions League action this Wednesday night.

The Dutch outfit have won both of their matches so far in Group H with wins over Valencia and Lille. Last season’s golden boys have shown no signs of slowing down from their marvellous 2018/19 campaign that saw them lose key players in Frenkie De Jong and Matjias De Ligt.

Chelsea made up for their opening match defeat to Valencia with a 2-1 victory over Lille and have the momentum heading into this match. On the weekend, they narrowly defeated Newcastle to make it five wins in a row in all competitions.

Tottenham Hotspur return to Champions League action this week as they host Crvena Zvezda at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Tuesday night.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be eager to secure a win in this seasons Champions League campaign, as well as try and forget the embarrassment of their 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich last time round. Red Star Belgrade however are in inspired form, and currently sit top of the pile in the Serbian SuperLiga. Manchester City are in Champions League action this week against Italian side Atalanta.

Manchester United host Premier League leaders Liverpool this Sunday in what promises to be an interesting affair.
