Chelsea vs Southampton
Sunday 22nd April 2018
FA Cup, Semi-Final, Wembley Stadium

Live on BT Sport – Kick-Off: 15:00

Chelsea vs Southampton: Chelsea take on Southampton looking to book their place in a second consecutive FA Cup final.

With any hopes of a top-four fading, Antonio Conte will be hoping for some success in the FA Cup. The Blues reached the final last year but were defeated 2-1 by Arsenal. Last weekend they completed a memorable turnaround, beating Sunday’s opponents 3-2.

Substitute Olivier Giroud’s brace was crucial in the turnaround and the former Arsenal man will be hoping for a starting berth at the weekend. After such a fantastic debut campaign, this season has been a bitter disappointment for Conte.

Even silverware, in the shape of the FA Cup, wouldn’t save their season. Chelsea have won three of their last nine games in all competition. A win on Sunday could be a catalyst to spark a run of form until the end of the season. Although hopes of Champions League football seem small, Spurs dropping five points in the last week will give some cause for optimism.

Southampton’s hopes of survival were dented after surrendering a two-goal lead against the Champions. Despite looking comfortable with a two-goal cushion the Saints crumbled, leaving them five points adrift of safety. The FA cup has come as a welcome distraction to the Saints, leading them to the last four. With fixtures against Bournemouth, Everton and Swansea to follow, this could be a huge month for the club. They have only won two of their last eight games, with both of those victories coming in this competition.

Martin Atkinson is the referee for Sunday’s clash. The Englishman has refereed 26 league games this season, accumulating an average booking points total of 41. That is the highest in the league, therefore meaning booking points could be a good bet. When these two sides met last weekend there were eight booking in the game. Thus, I would advise a maximum of 30+booking points each team.

Despite Chelsea’s poor form, they showed a lot of character to get back into the game last week. Coming from two goals behind is never easy and Conte will be hoping this was the markings of his team turning a corner. I think they will come out on top in the match, with Chelsea to win to nil my choice of bet.

Chelsea vs Southampton will be televised live in the UK on BT Sport with kick off at 15:00 GMT.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Southampton

Live on BT Sport 1 – Kick-Off: 19:45

Bournemouth vs Manchester United: Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from Sunday’s shock defeat with a win against Bournemouth.

After handing Manchester City the title on Sunday, Jose Mourinho’s team will be determined to secure second place. With a crucial FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham at the weekend, Mourinho could rotate his squad with three games in six days. United’s performance in the defeat to West Brom was lacklustre. The contrast in the display from last week at the Etihad was stark, with a number of a key player underperforming. Reports have suggested that Mourinho may even axe Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba from the starting side this weekend. Whilst both played poorly, United stand a much better chance of winning with the pair on the pitch, rather than off it. If they play in this game, then you fear that those reports could be on the money.

Bournemouth lost 3-0 at Liverpool at the weekend. Eddie Howe’s side were second best as Mohamad Salah notched yet another goal for the Reds. The Cherries sit in 11th place, ten points clear of the relegation zone. With only four games to go, they have all but secured their status in the top flight for another season. They have, however, been on a poor run of late, winning just one of their last eight games. Bournemouth have made a habit of pulling off a big win per season at the Vitality Stadium. In the last few years Manchester United, Arsenal and Spurs have all fallen foul of that record. This is always a game that you would label as a ‘potential banana skin’.

Graham Scott is the referee on Wednesday night. The Englishman has officiated 17 top-flight games this season, accumulating an average booking points total of 23.8, which is the joint second lowest in the league. Therefore, I’d avoid betting on booking points for this game.

Knowing Mourinho, he will be desperate to win this game. After such an embarrassing defeat at the weekend, he will expect a reaction from his players. Consequently, I think they will win, although much may depend on what team he starts with.

Bournemouth vs Manchester United will be televised live in the UK on BT Sport 1 with kick off at 19:45 GMT.

Prediction: Bournemouth 1-2 Manchester United

Suggested tips – Bournemouth vs Manchester United – (SKYBET):

  • Correct score, United to win 2-1 – 7/1.
  • BTTS and over 2.5 goal – 11/10.
  • Rashford to score and win – 2/1.
  • Wilson and Lukaku to both score – 11/2.
  • United to win by exactly one goal – 11/4.

Brighton vs Tottenham Hotspur
Tuesday 17th April 2018
FA Premier League, Amex Stadium

Live on Sky Sports HD – Kick-Off: 19:45

Brighton vs Tottenham Hotspur – Brighton can all but secure their Premier League status by beating a Tottenham Hotspur side in the pursuit of second place.

First things first. Chris Hughton and Brighton have done a remarkable job so far. The Seagulls’ maiden Premier League campaign has so far been a huge success as they stand on the brink of guaranteed safety from relegation.

The season has included some massive highs, such as the 2-1 victory against Arsenal and the 3-0 defeat of West Ham at the London Stadium. Recent form has not been so strong, without a victory in five since that Arsenal match, but their performances throughout the year have surely done more than enough to beat the drop.

The weekend’s defeat to M23 derby rivals Crystal Palace will leave a sour taste in the mouth, but a match against one of the country’s best, and most in-form sides is the perfect platform to rectify that taste.

Until the defeat against City, Spurs were on a rampage. They had not lost in the league since the first time they played Guardiola’s side in December. Pochettino’s team have forced themselves into the race for second place, and by surpassing Chelsea, aided with a wonderful curse-breaking 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge, nearly ensured Champions League football once again.

The reverse fixture was a comfortable win for Spurs. This game will likely again depend on Tottenham’s attacking impetus and whether they can break the ever-resilient defensive wall that is Brighton’s backline. Dubious goal-claiming Harry Kane will be fired up to increase his tally and do so.

Kevin Friend will take charge of his 18th Premier League game of the season, hoping to not find a reason to have to give out a first red card of the year. Of the 19 Premier League referees, Friend averages the second lowest average booking points per match with just 22.9. This has seen only 39 yellow cards in the games he has officiated.

Brighton vs Tottenham Hotspur will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports HD with Kick Off at 19:45 GMT.

Prediction: Brighton 0-2 Spurs

West Ham United vs Stoke City. Betting Match Preview, Monday 16th April 2018 - FA Premier League, London Stadium. Live on Sky Sports Football – Kick-Off: 20:00.

West Ham United vs Stoke City
Monday 16th April 2018
FA Premier League, London Stadium

Live on Sky Sports Football – Kick-Off: 20:00

West Ham United vs Stoke City: West Ham host Stoke in a relegation ‘six-pointer’ at the Olympic Stadium as they bid to move further clear of the drop zone.

The Hammers grabbed a vital point last weekend in their 1-1 draw with Chelsea. David Moyes’ team showed great character to battle back from a goal down away from home, with substitute Javier Hernandez grabbing the equaliser. They currently sit 14th, six points clear of relegation and seven in front of their visitors. After a run of one win in seven league games, West Ham appear to have turned a corner. Having recently beaten fellow relegation strugglers Southampton convincingly at home they will be hoping for another commanding display. Marko Arnautovic has been key in recent months. The Austrian has nine goals in 16 league games since December and has been the bright spark in the Hammers’ poor season.

Stoke fell to yet another defeat last weekend, losing 2-1 at home to Tottenham. The Potters are four points adrift of safety with only five games left to play. With fixtures against Burnley, Crystal Palace and Swansea yet to come, their future is still in their own hands. They can’t afford to lose games like this, though. They need to get points on the board, quickly and this starts with Monday night’s game. Stoke haven’t won away from home this calendar year. Their last victory on the road came in November last year against Watford. Despite winning his first match in charge, Paul Lambert has now endured nine games without victory. If Stoke are to turn the corner, it needs to be now.

Michael Oliver is the referee for Monday’s clash. The Englishman was embroiled in controversy last Wednesday as he awarded a last-minute penalty to Real Madrid in their Champions League tie against Juventus. Oliver has an average booking points total of 38.3; one of the league’s highest. As a result, I’d advise for a maximum of 40+ match booking points.

West Ham have performed well in their last two games. The Hammers, however, have the habit of self-destructing and I fear that could happen if they were to go behind in this game. Despite this, I still think they will win this game. Stoke’s poor away form has shown little sign of improving. Therefore, I’m predicting a home win.

West Ham United vs Stoke City will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Football with kick-off at 20:00 GMT.

Prediction: West Ham 2-1 Stoke

Suggested tips – West Ham United vs Stoke City – (BET365):

  • West Ham to win – (link no longer available).

  • Correct Score Group Betting – West Ham to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 – 15/8.
  • Arnautovic to score and win – 9/4.
  • Hernandez and Diouf to both score – 13/2.
  • Shaqiri to score first and Stoke to win 2-1 – 60/1.

Celtic vs Rangers. Betting Match Preview, Sunday 15th April 2018. Scottish Cup Semi-Final, Celtic Park. Live on Sky Sports Football – Kick-Off: 14:30 GMT.

Celtic vs Rangers
Sunday 15th April 2018
Scottish Cup Semi-Final, Celtic Park

Sky Sports Football – Kick-Off: 14:30 GMT

Celtic vs Rangers – The most glamorous match in Scottish football, and one of the world’s fiercest rivalries once again rears its head as Celtic meet Rangers in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park.

Bragging rights, pride, intensity, honour – all words intrinsically linked with a true football rivalry, and especially the Old Firm derby. These two sides have divided Glasgow since Celtic’s inception in 1887, 130 years ago. The roots of the hatred sink deeper than football but it will be on the pitch, at the home of Scottish football, where this iteration of score-settling will occur.

It could prove to be a fantastic week for Brendan Rodgers and his side. They are 13 points clear of Rangers and Aberdeen in the league with just five matches to play. So should they come through this tie they could reach the Scottish Cup final and six days later win their seventh successive league title with a victory at Hibernian.

Rangers will have to summon all of their passion to defy the odds and best their loathed neighbours. The Gers have been able to beat Celtic since this stage of the Scottish Cup in 2015/16. On that occasion, a fiery match finished 2-2 with Rangers winning on penalties.

Since that game, Celtic have remained undefeated in Old firm matches, a run stretching nine fixtures. Even more excruciating for Rangers fan will be the two 5-1 hammerings suffered in that period.

Graeme Murty’s team have everything to play for. The semi-final of the cup is the perfect opportunity to break a poor streak and get one over your main adversaries.

A place in the final against the victors of Motherwell and Aberdeen is at stake. Both Celtic and Rangers will be adamant in adding another Scottish Cup to their already outrageous tournament hauls. Whilst Rangers have more league titles (54 to Celtic’s 48), Celtic have the better pedigree in this competition with 37 wins to Rangers’ 37.

Surprisingly, Celtic are not the top scorers in the division and are yet to have a player reach double figures in the league. Rangers have scored 67, three more than The Bhoys, and can largely thank Alfredo Morelos and Josh Windass’ totals of 14 and 12 respectively for that.

This match will be anything but a formality, Rangers have proven that this season by earning a draw at Celtic Park and outplaying Celtic in their narrow 3-2 loss. Expect goals, expect passion, expect challenges flying in, expect drama. This is the Old Firm derby, and it rarely disappoints.

Bobby Madden is the man tasked with keeping a lid on this erupting volcano. The Scot has taken charge of 21 Premiership matches this year, dishing out 77 yellow cards and four reds. That included two sending offs in Celtic’s vital 2-0 victory at Aberdeen in February.

Celtic vs Rangers will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Football with kick-off at 14:30.

Prediction: Celtic 3-2 Rangers

A repeat of their last fixture, the game will be open with Celtic having enough quality to once again impose superiority on their reviled counterparts.

Suggested tips – Celtic vs Rangers (SKYBET):

  • Correct Score – Celtic to win 3-2 – 25/1. (Price Boost)
  • BTTS and over 2.5 goals – 1/1(NAP 2)
  • Popular Request a Bet – Celtic to score 2+ goals, 5+ Celtic corners, 3+ Rangers corners and 10+ booking points each team – 9/4. (NAP)

Newcastle United vs Arsenal – Newcastle face off against Arsenal in Premier League action this Super Sunday.

The hosts are hoping to cement their Premier League status for next year after a mixed season for the Magpies. Arsenal have turned their attentions to the UEFA Europa League after another disappointing domestic campaign for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Newcastle United are currently 10th in the Premier League with only six games left. Despite their comfortable table standing, Newcastle are not quite out of the thick of this tight relegation battle just yet. Rafa Benitez’ side will need one more victory to pull far enough away to complete Premier League survival. Their attacking prowess has been rather average this season. They have scored 33 goals in 32 games and scored two or more in only 25% of their home matches. Dwight Gayle has had the best turnover in a Newcastle shirt this season with 5 goals and 3 assists.

Defensively, Newcastle have been a tough nut to crack. They have conceded 41 goals and kept a clean sheet in 25% of their league matches. An in-form Arsenal will be a very hard test for this Newcastle side.

Arsenal are currently sixth in the Premier League and have turned their focus to their European dreams. They are 13 points from the Champions League spots; an achievement that has left fans frustrated and wanting new management for the next season. They have scored a total of 61 goals and scored two or more in 50% of their league matches. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has found form as of late with a goal in their recent 21 victory over Southampton.

At the back, Arsenal have not been too impressive. They have conceded 43 goals in their 32 matches and had a clean sheet in 34% of their matches. Arsenal are favourites due to their recent impressive attacking efforts.

The referee for this encounter is Anthony Taylor. The official has awarded an average of 34.6 booking points in his 23 Premier League matches. The Englishman shouldn’t have too many issues to deal with, as Arsenal have averaged 16.7 booking points and Newcastle, 15.6.

Newcastle United vs Arsenal will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Premier League with kick off at 13:30.

Prediction: 2-1 Arsenal win.

Wolves vs Birmingham
Sunday 15th April 2018
Sky Bet Championship, Molineux

Live on Sky Sports Football – Kick-Off: 12:00

Wolves vs Birmingham: Wolves can seal automatic promotion to the Premier League with victory over Birmingham in the West Midlands derby.

The league leaders hold an 11-point lead at the top of the Championship, following their 2-0 win over Derby County in midweek. Wolves could be promoted by the time they play on Sunday if either Cardiff City or Fulham fail to win on Saturday. Should Neil Warnock’s men fail to take three points, Wolves could also secure the league title with victory against their nearest rivals. Ruben Neves stole the headlines in their midweek win with a spectacular 30-yard volley. The Portuguese international has been a sensation since arriving in the Black Country and has been nominated for the Championship player of the year.

Birmingham come into this match three points clear of the relegation zone. The Blues’ impressive recent run of form has taken them out of the drop zone, at the expense of Barnsley. The Tykes, however, hold a game in hand over their relegation rivals, which could see Bolton or Birmingham slip back into the mire. They have lost one of their last five, which has included three victories against relegation rivals. Gary Monk’s arrival at the club has had the desired effect thus far and there is a real belief they can now avoid dropping into League One. The goals of Lukas Jutkiewicz have been key to their recent revival. The former Middlesbrough striker has scored three goals in his last three games.

Wolves have won six of their last eight home games, drawing two matches along the way. Their last defeat at Molineux came in January against Nottingham Forest. By contrast, Birmingham have won one of their last away matches.

Andy Davies is the referee for Sunday’s clash. The Englishman has officiated 21 Championship games this season, accumulating an average booking points total of 39.8. Therefore, I would advise a maximum booking points total of 40, given this is also a derby match.

Wolves look set for life in the top tier. Whether they need the result or not, I fully expect them to win this game. Wolves to win by exactly two goals is my bet for the game, with Wolves to win to nil a safer bet.

Wolves vs Birmingham City will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Football with kick off at 12:00 PM.

Prediction: Wolves 2-0 Birmingham City

Suggested tips – Wolves vs Birmingham – (BET365):

  • Correct score, Wolves to win 2-0 – (link no longer available).
  • Wolves to win to nil – (link no longer available).

Suggested tips – Wolves vs Birmingham – (SKYBET):

  • Afobe to score and win – 6/4.
  • Jota and Jutkiewicz to both score – 17/2.
  • Wolves to win by exactly two goals – 3/1.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth
Saturday 14th April, 5:30pm
FA Premier League, Anfield

BT Sport 1 – Kick-Off: 17:30 GMT

After conquering Manchester City and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League, Liverpool return to Premier League action against Bournemouth in the pursuit of finishing second.

Jurgen Klopp’s team were a massive part of a phenomenal round of Champions League action. After winning 3-0 at Anfield, The Reds finished the job with a 2-1 win at The Etihad to topple the favourites Manchester City 5-1 on aggregate.

Mo Salah, as always was instrumental – scoring the vital away goal on Tuesday to put the result beyond doubt. That was his 38th goal of the campaign and the Egyptian is breaking all sorts of club records.

Salah’s 29 Premier League goals have helped to all but secure Liverpool’s Champions League place for next season. Klopp’s side are 3rd with 67 points after 33 games, ten ahead of the flailing Chelsea in 5th. March’s loss to United has given Mourinho’s side the impetus to finish in 2nd, but the race isn’t over yet.  Tottenham Hotspurs’ league-leading form has also seen them catch Liverpool’s points tally, with an additional game in hand.

Consecutive top-four finishes and a real pursuit for the Champions League will constitute progress and an excellent season. Moreover, the attractive manner in which Liverpool have played their football will be something fans can be proud of. Liverpool’s tally of 75 league goals and scoring two+ in 21 games is only bettered by City (90 and 26).

Bournemouth have truly established themselves as a mid-table side. After flirting with the relegation battle, wins over Arsenal, Chelsea and Stoke propelled them from danger’s reach.

Eddie Howe’s side are now 11th in the table, just behind Newcastle in the top half on goal-difference. One win in seven will not please Howe, but it feels as if the job is done for this season. The sheer number of teams between them and 18th place all but secures their Premier League status.

It seems vastly unlikely that The Cherries form will improve after this fixture. Liverpool’s loss to United was their only league defeat since January. Perhaps more pertinent, is that Klopp’s team remain the division’s only unbeaten side at home. The Reds have scored in their last seven at Anfield too.

Chris Kavanagh takes charge of this one, for his 13th Premier League appearance of the campaign. In the previous 12 he has given out 40 yellow cards and two reds, ranking him 6th of 19 in the league for average booking points per game, at 37.5.

Bournemouth have famously defied the odds to beat Liverpool before, coming from 3-1 to win 4-3 last season. However, this seems like a very different Liverpool side, one that is relentless in their quest to improve. The Reds may rotate after an exhausting week, but will still have too much for their South Coast opponents.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth will be televised live in the UK on BT Sports 1 with kick-off at 17:30 GMT.

Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Bournemouth

Suggested tips – Liverpool vs Bournemouth – (BET365):

  • Correct score, Liverpool to win 3-0 – (link no longer available).
  • Roberto Firminho to score first – (link no longer available).

Suggested tips – Liverpool vs Bournemouth – (SKYBET):

Fulham vs Brentford
Saturday 14th April 2018
Sky Bet Championship, Craven Cottage

Live on Sky Sports Football – Kick-Off: 17:30

Fulham vs Brentford: Fulham will be looking to continue their push for automatic promotion as they host Brentford at Craven Cottage in a London derby.

Fulham moved into second place in midweek following their 1-0 win over Reading. The Cottagers are a point clear of Cardiff City, who do hold a game in hand. Slaviska Jokanovic’s men have embarked on a 20-match unbeaten championship run; including eight wins from their last nine games. They have won 11 of their last 12 home games, making Craven Cottage a fortress. There is no doubt that they are the league’s form side, approaching the end of the campaign. Should they miss out on a top-two finish, that momentum could be vital ahead of the play-offs. After losing last year to Reading in the semi-final, they will be hoping to secure promotion this time around. Alexandar Mitrovic has been key to their run of form. The Newcastle loanee has 11 goals in his last 11 games.

Brentford appear to have just fallen short of the play-offs. The Bees are fourth points behind sixth-placed Millwall, with four games left to play. With a number of teams in and around the chasing pack still to play each other, there is still a chance for them to sneak in. If Dean Smith’s side are to manage a top-six finish, they need to win all their remaining games. Brentford have, again, defied the odds after losing yet more key players. The departure of Harlee Dean, Jota and Lasse Vibe hasn’t dented their efforts at challenging at the right end of the table. Brentford are unbeaten in five games, winning their last three.

Neil Swarbrick is the referee for Saturday’s tea-time kick-off. The Englishman has spent most of his time in the Premier League this season. He has officiated 18 top-flight matches and just one Championship games. He has an average booking points total of 26.7, which is relatively low. Consequently, I’d advise a maximum of 30+ total booking points, or 20+ each team.

Fulham look unstoppable right now, which could be their biggest danger. The Championship is an almost unpredictable league, which can see any team beat another. Therefore, I do think they will secure another win at home, although it will be a close game.

Fulham vs Brentford will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Football with kick-off at 17:30.

Prediction: Fulham 3-1 Brentford

Suggested tips – Fulham vs Brentford – (BET365):

  • Correct score, Fulham 3-1 – (link no longer available).
  • Half Time / Full Time – Fulham / Fulham – (link no longer available).

Suggested tips – Fulham vs Brentford – (SKYBET):

  • Sessegnon and Watkins to both score – 6/1.

  • Fulham to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 – 9/4.
  • BTTS and Fulham to win – 15/8.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City
Saturday 14th April 2018
FA Premier League, Wembley Stadium

Sky Sports Football – Kick-Off: 19:30 GMT

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City: Manchester City will be looking for their first win in three games as they take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

City crashed out the Champions League in midweek after their third consecutive defeat. Liverpool’s 2-1 win at the Etihad secured their place in the semi-final at the expense of the Champions elect. In a traumatic week, City surrendered their chance of the treble, as well as securing the league title against Manchester United. In their last two games, Pep Guardiola’s team have surrendered half-time leads and lost. This indicates that City are running out of steam, as a result of such an impressive campaign.

The high intensity they showed in the first half of both games couldn’t be matched in the second 45 and consequently they won neither game. Both Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero were left out of the starting line-up against the Reds. Both are likely to return at Wembley as City look to restore some lost pride. Victory could see them secure their third title in seven years, should United lose at home to West Brom on Sunday.

Tottenham tightened their grip on a top-four spot with a 2-1 victory at Stoke last weekend. Spurs now hold a ten point lead on their London rivals as they head for a third consecutive Champions League finish. Harry Kane returned to the side last week as he hopes to claim his third golden boot in a row. With third, and potentially second, still in reach for Tottenham, Mauricio Pochettino will have his eyes set on a strong finish to the season. They face Manchester United next weekend as they look to earn their place in the FA Cup final. Victory in that competition would be the Argentinian’s first in charge of Spurs and would cap off a strong season.

Jonathan Moss is the referee for Saturday night’s crunch clash. The Englishman has an average booking points total of 37.1. This is one of the highest in the league and with tempers likely to boil over, expect some booking points on Saturday. Thus, I’d advise a maximum total of 50 or 20+ each team.

Tottenham have won their last four games at home. Pochettino’s high-energy side could cause City yet to more problems, in a week they will want to forget. Therefore, I’m opting for a score draw. Kane and Aguero to both score would be my bet of choice as the two strikers look to fire their side to victory.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Football with kick-off at 19:30 GMT.
