CSKA Moscow vs Arsenal: Arsenal travel to Russia to face CSKA Moscow looking to seal their place in the semi-finals of the Europa League.

Arsene Wenger’s side hold a 4-1 lead heading into the second leg of their tie. A brace from Alexandre Lacazette alongside a goal from Aaron Ramsey and Henrikh Mkhitaryan put the Gunners in control at the Emirates. With this game in mind, Wenger rested a number of key players during their 3-2 victory over Southampton at the weekend. One player who particularly stood out, was Danny Welbeck.

The Englishman helped himself to two goals and an assist as well as the Man of The Match award. After two long-term injuries Welbeck finally looks to be hitting form in an Arsenal shirt. With the World Cup only around the corner, the former Manchester United attacker is doing himself no harm as hopes to grab Gareth Southgate’s attention. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is, again, cup-tied and will miss the game, with Lacazette and Welbeck expected the spearhead the Gunners’ attack

Moscow followed up their defeat at the Emirates with another loss at the weekend. They were beaten at home 2-1 by Dynamo Moscow, all but ending their hopes of winning the league title. With an uphill task to follow in the Europa League, their season look to be petering out. However, as we have seen this week, shock result can happen. Just like Roma, a 3-0 win for the Russian side would see them progress, due to their away goal in the Capital.

Felix Zwayer is the referee on Thursday. The German plies his trade in the Bundesliga. He has officiated 12 matches this season, accumulating an average card score of 3.67. That includes 43 yellow cards and one dismissal. Therefore, I would avoid betting on anything higher than 30+ match booking points.

Arsenal hold a very commanding lead. It would take one mighty comeback for CSKA to go through. Thus, I think the tie is beyond them and Arsenal will progress. As a result, I’m going for BTTS and over 2.5 as my bet, with BTTS and Arsenal to win a good bet at longer odds.

Manchester City vs Liverpool: Manchester City host Liverpool in the Champions League quarter-final, looking to overturn a three-goal deficit from their first-leg defeat.

City come into this game having lost consecutive matches for the first time this season. Their capitulation in the second-half of the Manchester derby highlighted the Citizens defensive frailties as they let a two-goal lead slip. Whilst Pep Guardiola opted to rest Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero, this had no bearing on Saturday’s result. City should have been four up at the break, with Raheem Sterling guilty of wasting two golden opportunities.

Instead, it was Nicolas Otamendi and Vincent Kompany who were exposed. They duo have conceded six goals in 180 minutes. They had no answer to Liverpool’s first-half onslaught at Anfield, nor United’s second 45 at the Etihad. Despite spending big on Aymeric Laporte, Guardiola has stuck by his first-choice centre-half pairing. This week has shown that they aren’t good enough to win the Champions League. The Premier League, yes, but not Europe’s elite competition. City welcome back Sergio Aguero as they hope to make create one of Europe’s most memorable comebacks. We witnessed Barcelona perform a miracle last year and City will need nothing short of their own to progress.

Liverpool rotated heavily at the weekend, resulting in a 0-0 draw with Everton. They are, however, sweating on the fitness of Mohamad Salah, who came off with a groin strain in the first leg. They are also without Jordan Henderson and Emre Can, meaning Gini Wijnaldum will operate in a holding midfield position. The Dutchman took up this role on Saturday but is relatively inexperienced in the role, which could be an area for City to target. Having kept City at bay in the first-leg, Liverpool will be hoping to grab a crucial away goal. If the Reds can score, it would leave City needing four goal; a task that even Guardiola would deem impossible.

Antonio Mateu Lahoz is the referee for Tuesday night. The Spaniard plies his trade in La Liga and has an average cards per match total of 4.93. This includes 73 yellow cards across 15 league matches, averaging at just 4.87 per game. There’s no doubt this game will be hard-fought and I would, therefore, advise a maximum booking points total of 60.

Whilst I think City will win the game, I think the tie is beyond them. They have to score an early goal to have any hopes of completing a memorable turn-around. Keeping Liverpool out on the counter-attack will also be a tough task, but if anyone is capable, it’s Pep.

Chelsea vs West Ham: Chelsea host West Ham in another London derby looking to bounce back from last week’s defeat to Tottenham.

Antonio Conte’s men suffered a huge blow last week, losing 3-1 to Spurs. It was their first defeat at home to their rivals in over 28 years and moved Tottenham eight points in fourth. Following that result, Chelsea’s hopes of a top-four finish look to be over. It would take a miracle for Conte’s team to secure Champions League football. This has only further intensified speculation over the Italian’s future. With a number of top managers available, Chelsea look set to ring the changes once again in the summer.

Chelsea weakened their side in the summer unnecessarily. Letting Nemanja Matic and Diego Costa leave was poor business and their replacements haven’t been up to scratch. David Luiz has also been exiled from the side, despite playing a starring role in their title win last year. Chelsea’s squad does need an overhaul and whilst most fans would like to see Conte stay, I can’t envisage it happening.

West Ham secured an emphatic 3-0 win last weekend, against relegation rivals Southampton. Marko Arnautovic continued his fine form with a brace as the Hammers sealed an important three points. The win moved them up to 14th in the table, five points clear of the bottom three. That brought to end a run of three straight defeats in the league, which had seen them drop closer to the drop zone.

West Ham face Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City in their next four games, with Manchester United also set to visit the Olympic Stadium before the season is out. With a run of tough fixtures ahead, picking up points against the team around them will be crucial. The Hammers have both Stoke and Everton to play, which could determine their fate.

Kevin Friend is the referee for Sunday’s derby clash. The Englishman has officiated 16 Premier League games this season, with an average booking points total of 23.8. That is the third lowest in the league. Therefore, booking points may not be the best bet this weekend, despite it being a derby match.

Chelsea played well in the first half last week but were undone in the second 45. As a result, I expect the Blues to grab three much-needed points as they look to close the gap on the top four.

Arsenal vs Southampton: Arsenal host relegation-threatened Southampton at the Emirates looking for a fifth straight win on the bounce.

The Gunners claimed an impressive 4-1 win against CSKA Moscow in midweek, in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final. That victory sets them up nicely for their trip to Russia next Thursday. Alexandre Lacazette followed up his goal last weekend with another two in that game, taking the Frenchman to 12 goals for the season. After missing a large chunk of the campaign through injury, the question posed to Arsene Wenger is, how does he fit both Lacazaette and Aubameyang in the same side? Since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in January, the Gabon international has performed well. He showed a level of unselfishness last weekend to allow Lacazette to take their penalty, despite being on a hattrick. I think together, they could be a powerful duo.

In order to fit both in as central strikers, Wenger would need to switch to a back three. With Mesut Ozil also in the side, there’s no way they could do it with a back four. Wenger is not averse to playing this formation, having done so for large portion earlier in the season. This would also reduce the defensive responsibilities of the German. If Arsenal can recruit the correct defenders to fit this formation in the summer, I could see them becoming a dangerous pair up front.

Southampton are in big trouble. Despite boasting one of the most talented squads in the bottom half, they find themselves in the relegation zone. Last week, they were alarmingly beaten 3-0 by fellow relegation-strugglers West Ham. That result has only increased the panic on the South Coast, with the Saints set to face Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea before the season is out. They are only two points adrift of safety, with a game in hand but with games running out, Mark Hughes’ men need points on the board.

Andre Marriner is the referee for Sunday’s clash at the Emirates. The Englishman has an average booking points total of 27.8, one of the lowest in the league. Whilst Southampton are fighting for their lives, these teams don’t rank high amongst the league’s most carded sides. As a result, I would avoid betting on booking points, to a maximum of 30+ for both teams.

Southampton are desperate for a performance, as much as a result. They’ve shown little fight as of yet. Even if that does improve this weekend, I don’t see them getting a result. I fancy Arsenal to seal another home win, grabbing a couple of goals in the process.

Manchester City vs Manchester United: Manchester City face Manchester United at the Etihad knowing a victory against their greatest rivals will seal the Premier League title.

Victory for City would see them win the division for the fourth time in seven years. Pep Guardiola’s side currently hold a 16 point lead over Jose Mourinho’s men, with could become 19 with just six games to play. Manchester United will be desperate to delay the party for another week at least, making this a mouth-watering matchup.

City were rocked in the week as they fell to a 3-0 to Liverpool. Guardiola changed his tactics having been bested by Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield earlier in the campaign but this had little effect. Instead of persisting with the 4-3-3 blueprint that has proved so fruitful this campaign, the Spaniard changed the personnel and shape of his side. Raheem Sterling was discarded to the bench whilst Aymeric Laporte was asked to play out of position at left-back. This played right into Liverpool’s hands, with the Reds finding themselves 3-0 to the good inside 30 minutes as a result.

City failed to register a shot on target, which underlined Liverpool’s dominance. With a three-goal deficit to overhaul, the pressure is on the Champions elect. With that second leg looming on Tuesday, Guardiola will have to find a balance in his team selection at the weekend. What does he value most? A title-winning victory against their rivals, or a better chance at reaching the Champions League semi-final.

Whilst Mourinho can point to his figures and sheets, this has been an underwhelming season for United. There’s no doubt that the Red Devils have improved under the Portuguese’s guidance, but they have underperformed on the biggest stages. A club the size of United should not find themselves 16 points behind anyone in the league, let alone their nearest rivals. Then, they were embarrassed in their own backyard by Sevilla. Whilst Mourinho has deflected the blame away from himself, and his players, he knows this is a chance to try and restore some pride. Whilst a result will only delay the inevitable, Manchester United have the chance to make a big statement on Saturday.

Martin Atkinson is the referee for Saturday’s Manchester derby. The Englishman has the fourth highest average booking points total in the league, at 39.4. With so much at stake in this game, tempers are likely to fray. Therefore, booking points maybe a good thing to bet on. However, I’d recommend no more than 30+ each team.

It will be intriguing to see what team Guardiola picks. I think he will go for it and secure the Premier League trophy in the process.

Norwich vs Villa: Aston Villa continue their promotion push as they take a trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City in the Championship.

Villa returned to winning ways in midweek, comfortably defeating Reading 3-0. Steve Bruce’s side occupy fourth spot but are seven points behind second-placed Cardiff City. The Villans have also played a game extra than their Welsh rivals, meaning automatic promotion seems to be a step too far. Villa hold a 12 point lead over 7th place, meaning they will be involved in this season’s play-offs. Steve Bruce lead Hull City to promotion via this route in his last full season in charge. With the experience of players such as Glenn Whelan, John Terry and Robert Snodgrass, this won’t be something that daunts Villa.

They’re also boosted by the timely return of Jonathan Kodjia. The Ivory Coast striker has missed most of the campaign through injury but returned to the bench last weekend at Hull. Kodjia’s goals have been sorely missed this campaign and Bruce will be looking to get him fit and firing ahead of the play-offs.

Norwich have suffered a disappointing campaign. The Canaries sit in 14th place, ten points adrift of the play-offs. They have little to play for this season as they’re not going up or down. Marcus Madison has been the shining light in an otherwise dull season, highlighted by the Englishman’s inclusion in the Championship team of the season. Keeping the England U21 international at the club has to be the priority in the summer. A number of Premier clubs have already registered their interest in him, so it will be interesting to see how resistant the club will be to those approaches.

Peter Bankes is the referee for this fixture. The Englishman has officiated 25 Championship games this season, with an average booking points total of 40.6. He has shown 90 yellow cards and five red cards this season. He has the fifth highest booking points total when compared to referees who have officiated more than 15 games in the league this season.

Norwich have little to play for and therefore I expect Villa to win. Momentum is key in the play-offs so it is important for them to string together some results. I therefore fancy BTTS and Villa to win.

Everton vs Liverpool: Liverpool take a trip to Goodison Park in the Merseyside derby as they look to go second in the Premier League table.

After a fantastic 3-0 win in midweek against Manchester City, Liverpool will be hoping for victory against their biggest rivals. With the second leg of that clash to come next Tuesday, Jurgen Klopp will have to rotate his squad. Mohamad Salah was taken off on Wednesday with a slight groin problem, making him a doubt for Saturday’s derby. I can’t see them taking the risk with their Egyptian maestro, given their upcoming games. Whilst they hold a commanding lead against City heading into the second leg, they will not take anything for granted, which could impact their team selection for this game. A win for the Reds will take them above Manchester United into second, ahead of the Manchester derby later in the day.

Everton come into this game in ninth place, 26 points behind their rivals. With Sam Allardyce’s team 12 points ahead of the relegation zone, there is no fear of the Toffees going down. Their main aim is to build some momentum ahead of next year, as ‘big Sam’ continues to assess his squad ahead of the summer transfer window. Cenk Tosun has been in good form recently, with four goals in his last five league games. With a full pre-season under his belt, there is a real belief the January addition could help to replace to void left by Romelu Lukaku.

Liverpool have lost just one of their last six games in all competition. By contrast, Everton have won three and lost three. Everton have, however, won three of their last four home games. Michael Oliver is the referee for this game. The Englishman has the second highest average booking points total in the league at 39.8. He has issued 88 yellow cards and 5 red cards in his 25 league games this year.

Whilst on paper, Liverpool are clear favourites for this game, it’s tough to say how they’ll perform in his game. Thus, I’m only predicting a narrow win for the Reds but don’t be shocked if this game ends up a draw.

Cardiff City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers: Cardiff host Wolves at the Cardiff City Stadium in a match that could determine the destination of the league title.

Many have been pointing to this game for some time as the game that decides the Championship winners. Wolves have been runaway leaders for some time but Cardiff’s impressive form has given them a chance of stealing the title. The Bluebirds six five points behind Wolves, with a game in hand. A win for the Bluebirds on Friday and against Derby (their spare game) could see them move level on points at the top. Whilst that would still be not enough to take them top, due to Wolves superior goal difference, it would certainly crank up the pressure on Nuno Santo’s side.

Cardiff come into this game in their best form of the campaign. Despite surrendering their eight-game winning run at Sheffield United on Monday, they did secure a late point thanks to Anthony Pilkington. Neil Warnock’s side were second best at Bramall Lane yet didn’t lose the game; a hallmark of a good side. They’re five points clear of Fulham in the race for automatic promotion and have played one less game than Slavika Jokanovic’s side. Cardiff have won their last seven home games, with their last league defeat at homecoming in late December. Cardiff conceded just four goals in those seven wins, collecting four clean sheets in the process.

Wolves welcome back Matt Doherty and Ruben Neves from suspension after both missed the midweek draw with Hull. When Wolves are without Neves, they don’t look the same team. The Portuguese’s influence on this team hasn’t gone unnoticed, having been nominated for the Championship player of the season. A win for them would all but secure the league title and move them one step closer to the Premier League. Wolves are unbeaten in their last four games but have only won two of their last five away games. They did put out a magnificent display last time on the road, beating promotion-chasing Middlesbrough despite finishing the game with nine men.

Mike Dean has been placed in charge of Friday’s top table clash. The Englishman is yet to officiate a game in the second tier this season. Dean has an average booking points total of 39 across 21 matches. This is the fifth highest in the division, therefore booking points could be a good bet for this game.

This is a tough game to call. On one side, Cardiff’s home form has been fantastic. Wolves, however, are the best team in the league and their quality could shine through. Thus, I’m going to sit on the fence and opt for a draw, with both sides capable of securing the three points.

Arsenal vs CSKA Moscow: Arsenal will be hoping to make the most of home advantage as they host CSKA Moscow in the first round of their Europa League quarter-final tie.

The Gunners come into the match fresh from defeating Stoke at the weekend. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang grabbed a brace alongside a goal for the returning Alexandre Lacazette in their 3-0 win. Lacazette will be hoping to start on Thursday following his return from injury but Aubameyang is ineligible having featured for Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. This rule has, however, been removed ahead of next year’s competitions.

Danny Welbeck has been leading the line in Arsenal’s recent Europa League success, so it will be interesting to see who Arsene Wenger opts with from the start. They have won their last four games in a row, with three of those coming at the Emirates. They have only conceded one goal in those four games, scoring 11 times. With two more back to back home games to come, it’s crucial they make the most of their home comforts if they want to progress to the next round. Whilst the main priority will be ensuring they take a lead to Russia, they will hope to avoid giving the visitors any away goals in the process.

CSKA knocked out Lyon in the last round to move into the last eight of the competition. They currently sit third in the Russian Premier League, five points behind leaders Lokomotiv Moscow with seven games to go. They have won five of their last six games in all competitions. Despite losing the first leg at home to Lyon in the last round, they managed to defeat the French side 3-2 away from home. Therefore, Arsenal should seen that result as a warning; this is a team that can get a result on the road. Leicester City loanee Ahmed Musa is expected to lead the line whilst Russian midfielder Alan Dzagoev is their creative hub in the middle of the park.

Pavel Kralovec is the referee for Thursday’s clash. The Czech has officiated six games in Europe this season, brandishing 17 yellow cards. An average booking points total of 28.3 is nothing spectacular and thus booking points may be something to steer away from.

I think Arsenal will win, but it may be closer than some neutrals will expect. CSKA are no pushovers, which has been shown in the opposition they have beaten to get this far. Still, I expect the Gunners to come out winners in this match.

Liverpool vs Manchester City: Liverpool will be hoping to make the most of their home advantage when they host Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

The Reds come into the game after beating Crystal Palace 2-1 at the weekend. Mohamad Salah grabbed the winner with ten minutes to go, his 38th goal of the season in all competitions. Liverpool have lost one game at Anfield in all competitions this season. That defeat came back in January in the FA Cup, meaning the Reds are also unbeaten in their last five at home. If Jurgen Klopp’s side hold any hope of progressing into the last four, making the use of their crowd will be vital. The Reds are the only side to have beaten Pep Guardiola’s City team this season, a result that came here at Anfield.

In that match, City were blown away in a ten minute period. That was the effect of the Liverpool home crowd, an atmosphere they need to recreate on Wednesday night. If that league game was a European tie, a marginal 4-3 defeat would have been a good result for City, which highlights the size of Liverpool’s task.

City warmed up for this game with a 3-1 against Everton at the weekend. Guardiola’s side blew away the Toffees at Goodison Park, leading 3-0 before the half-time whistle. That win meant they can secure their third league title in seven years this weekend, in the Manchester derby. With three huge games in six days, it will be interesting to see which games Guardiola prioritises as looks to complete the treble.

Sergio Aguero will miss the trip to Anfield having failed to recover from a knee injury that has kept him out of action since March the fourth. As a result, Gabriel Jesus will lead the line in his absence, supported by Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane. The pace and skill of these three attackers would cause any defence in Europe problems. This could be crucial as City go in search of an important away goal.

Felix Brych has been appointed as the referee for this game. The German plies his trade in the Bundesliga and has averaged 3.57 cards per game this season. This included 47 yellow cards in 14 league games, averaging at 3.4 cards each match. Consequently, I would advise to stay under 40+ match booking points.

In their two league meetings this season, Liverpool and City have racked up 12 goals. Therefore, there are bound to be some more in these two legs. Thus, my bet would be BTTS and over 3.5 goals, although, as a correct score I do fancy a score draw.
