Chelsea vs Arsenal
Wednesday 29th May 2019
The Europa League Final, Baku Olympic Stadium

Live on BT Sport 2 – Kick Off:  20:00 BST

Chelsea vs Arsenal: It’s an all-English affair in the Europa League final as Chelsea and Arsenal go head-to-head in the latest instalment of the London derby, with European silverware up for grabs.

Chelsea come into this match praying for a repeat of their 2013 triumph over Benfica. There are few survivors from that side, six years on, whilst speculation continues over the future of Maurizio Sarri. With Juventus reportedly sniffing around the Italian, this could be his last match as Chelsea manager. Frank Lampard is the favourite to replace Sarri, should he opt for a return to Italy. This could be a farewell trophy for Eden Hazard too, who looks set to move to Real Madrid this summer.

With a transfer ban looming over the Blues’ head, this could be one of the toughest closed seasons in the Roman Abramovic era. Champions League football is secure, at least, regardless of this result. Their route to the final was far from straight forward; they needed penalties to edge past Eintracht Frankfurt in the semi-final. They are yet to lose in this year’s competition, however, which is an impressive feat.

This game has much bigger added implications for the men in red. For Arsenal, this is their one and only shot to secure Champions League football. This is their first European final since losing to Barcelona in 2006. After finishing fifth in the league, Unai Emery’s hopes of acquiring some of Europe’s top talent in the summer window rests on this match. Arsenal have impressed in this competition this season. The knocked out Spanish opposition in the last round, making light work of Valencia with home and away wins. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have been central to their success in this tournament and the pair will need to be at their best again on Wednesday if they’re to lift the trophy. They will be without Henrikh Mkhitaryan after he stayed at home due to political unrest between Armenia and the final host country Azerbaijan.

Gianluca Rocchi is the referee for this game. The Italian has officiated 13 Serie A matches this season. In that time, he has accumulated an average card total of 5.46. Therefore, I would advise a maximum of 60+ total points for this fixture.

Chelsea are in the better form of the two sides, although that can often go out of the window in a cup final. Given Arsenal’s desperation to secure Champions League football, I’m going to side with them. The pace of Aubameyang and Lacazette may just prove too much for David Luiz and Co to handle.

Chelsea vs Arsenal will be televised live in the UK on BT Sport 2 with kick off at 20:00 BST.

Aston Villa vs Derby County
Monday 27 May 2019
The Championship Play-Off Final, Wembley Stadium

Live on Sky Sports Football HD – Kick-Off: 15:00 GMT

Aston Villa vs Derby County: Aston Villa and Derby County go head to head in ‘the richest game in football’ with a Premier League place and a rumoured windfall of £180m at stake.

Dean Smith’s side enter this game having beaten West Brom in the semi-finals on penalties, after a 2-2 draw on aggregate. Villa’s performance at the Hawthorns wasn’t the best, as they lost 1-0, but they still managed to edge past their West Midlands rivals. Having beaten Derby 3-0 and 4-0 in the league season, they come into this match as favourites. Their hopes of reaching the promised land rest in the hands of their key players, Tammy Abraham, Jack Grealish and Tyrone Mings. Without the trio, Villa would still be languishing in mid-table. They also know that if they fail to secure promotion all three won’t be at the club next year. With Financial Fair Play restrictions looming, Smith would have completely rebuild this side for next season, should they lose.

Frank Lampard’s men come into this game on a high after their phenomenal comeback against Leeds United. Despite tailing the tie 2-0 on aggregate, they came back with three goals in 15 minutes to win 4-2 at Elland Road and progress 4-3. Jack Marriott’s equalised with his first touch before bagging the winner. That brace should earn him a first start in months. If Lampard opts for a 4-4-2 diamond again, which I think he will, eyes will be on whether Martyn Waghorn is fit to join Marriott in attack, or whether Mason Bennett will lead the line.

The narrow system allows the Rams’ key players such as Mason Mount and Duane Holmes to find space between the lines and feed the attackers. Although Derby have lost 7-0 on aggregate over two games with Villa, that was a similar story with Leeds. They won that game, in the most unlikely of circumstance, which shows anything can happen in the play-offs.

Anthony Taylor is the referee for this fixture. The Englishman has officiated 48 top-flight matches this season. In that time, he has accumulated an average booking points total of 31.8. Therefore, I would advise a maximum of 50+ total points for this fixture.

This is a really tough game to call. Play-off finals aren’t usually flooded with goals; they can often be tense, nervy affairs. I expect Derby to make things tough for Aston Villa, but I am going to back Smith’s side for a narrow win. Don’t be surprised if this makes it all the way to extra time and even penalties, though.

Aston Villa vs Derby County will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Football with kick-off at 15:00 BST.

Prediction: Aston Villa 2-1 Derby County

Suggested Tips – Aston Villa vs Derby County – (SKYBET)

  • Correct Score – Aston Villa to Win – 2-1 – 8/1.
  • Both Players to score – Jack Marriott and Tammy Abraham – 8/1.
  • Player Stats RequestABets – Grealish 1+ shots on target & Wilson 1+ shots on target and 20+ booking points each team – 4/1.
  • Player Stats RequestABets – Abraham to score a header and Wilson to score from outside the area – 100/1.
  • Scorecast Boost – Tammy Abraham to score first and Aston Villa to win 2-1 – 40/1. (NB).

Match Betting Preview - Charlton Athletic vs Sunderland. Sunday 26th May 2019, Sky Bet League One, Play Off Final, Wembley Stadium. Sky Sports Football HD - Kick-Off: 15:00 GMT.

Charlton Athletic vs Sunderland
Sunday 26 May 2019
SkyBet League One, Wembley Stadium

Live on Sky Sports Football HD – Kick-Off: 15:00 BST

Charlton Athletic and Sunderland both travel to Wembley Stadium to face off in the SkyBet League One play-off final.

London-based Charlton needed penalties to overcome Doncaster Rovers in their semi-final tie. Meanwhile, Sunderland produced a 180-minute gritty performance with Chris Maguire’s first leg strike the only goal over both matches.

Charlton are technically on ‘home turf’ and are priced at 9/5 to win the match by SkyBet. Lee Bowyer’s side are the form club in the division and have lost just twice in the last 18 matches. However, in their two previous meetings with Sunderland they have drawn one and lost the other. Going forward, striker Lyle Taylor has been very impressive with 21 goals this term. He is priced at 13/8 to score anytime.

In six of their last seven wins, they have kept a clean sheet. SkyBet are offering 7/2 for them to win to nil.

Sunderland are priced at a very tempting 13/8 to win. The Black Cats have been a formidable force this season and were favourites to win the league at the start of the campaign. They lost only 5 matches all season – the lowest in the whole division however, with 19 draws they were unable to reach the automatic spots.

One luxury that Sunderland have managed to keep hold of during their EFL demise was Aiden McGeady. The Irish international scored 11 goals during the season and is priced at 11/2 to score first.

The referee for this match will be Andy Madley. This will be only the second time Madley has taken charge of Sunderland this season and he has shown 110 yellow cards and four reds in 39 matches. He averaged around 24 booking points between the various league one and two games he officiated this season.

Charlton Athletic vs Sunderland will be televised on Sky Sports Football HD and kicks off at 15:00.

Prediction: Charlton Athletic 0-1 Sunderland

– The Checkatrade finalists have proved they are hard to beat and can catch teams on the break.

Suggested Tips – Charlton Athletic vs Sunderland – (SKYBET)

  • Correct Score – Sunderland to win – 1-0 – 6/1.
  • To Win To Nil – Sunderland – 3/1.
  • Anytime Goalscorer – Lyle Taylor – 15/8.
  • Price Boost – Aiden McGeady to score first – 13/2.
  • Popular RequestABets – Sunderland to win, 4+ corners each team and Cattermole to be carded – 9/1.
  • Yes or No? – Q1 – No, Q2 – Yes, Q3 – No, Q4 – Yes, Q5 – Yes, Q6 – No – 33/1.
  • Player Stats RequestABets – BTTS, 20+ booking points each team (90mins) and Either Team to win on pens – 14/1.
  • RequestABet Specials 80/1 and above –  Draw 2-2, 5+ corners each team and 20+ booking points each team – 80/1.
  • RequestABet Specials up to 10/1 – BTTS, 3+ Corners each team and 10+ booking points each team – 2/1. (NAP).

Match Betting Preview - Newport County vs Tranmere Rovers. Saturday 25th May 2019, Sky Bet League Two, Play Off Final, Wembley Stadium. Sky Sports Football HD - Kick-Off: 15:00 GMT.

Newport County vs Tranmere Rovers
Saturday 25 May 2019
SkyBet League Two, Wembley Stadium

Live on Sky Sports Football HD – Kick-Off: 15:00 GMT

Newport County and Tranmere Rovers travel to the Wembley arch in the SkyBet League Two play-off final.

The two clubs finished 6thand 7thin the league standings, making them the two lowest ranked sides in the play-offs. The Welsh outfit overcame Mansfield 2-1 on aggregate whilst Tranmere won in similar fashion with the same win on aggregate. Either club is 90 minutes away from League One.

Newport County are slight underdogs for this math according to the bookmakers and are priced at 21/10 by SkyBet to win the match. Newport enter this match in very impressive form, unbeaten in 12 matches. In those 12 matches, they have not conceded more than one goal. With a tight defence, it seems likely Newport may win to nil and SkyBet are offering 7/2 for that to happen.

One player who has been instrumental to their successes is striker Jamille Matt. The Jamaican has 14 goals to his name this season and is a pest of a target man. He is priced at 11/5 to score anytime.

Tranmere Rovers, with the faithful support of referee Mike Dean, are priced at 6/4 to win inside 90 minutes by SkyBet. Tranmere are not in the desirable form of their opponents with just three wins from ten matches, but they have won when it matters. One player has stolen the headlines this season with a huge 29 goals to his name. James Norwood is the best goal scorer in the league and is priced at 6/4 to score anytime.

The referee for this match will be Ross Joyce. The official hasn’t taken charge of a League two match this season but has averaged 30 booking points per match when officiating in the UK this season.

Newport County vs Tranmere Rovers will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Football HD and kicks off at 15:00.

Prediction: Newport County 1-1 Tranmere Rovers

– This match is incredibly close therefore I am predicting it will make it to at least extra time.

Suggested Tips – Newport County vs Tranmere Rovers – (SKYBET)

  • Correct Score – 1-1 – 9/2.
  • Correct Score Group Betting – 1-1, 2-2, or 3-3 Draw – 10/3.
  • Anytime Goalscorer – Jamille Matt – 9/4.
  • Total Match Corners – 11+ – 5/4.
  • Popular RequestABets – Over 1.5 goals, 5+ Newport County corners, 3+ Tranmere corners and 10+ booking points each team – 3/1. (NAP).
  • Scorecast Boost – Padraig Amond to score first and Newport County to win 2-1 – 66/1.
  • Player Stats RequestABets – Draw 0-0 and no booking points – 150/1.
  • Player Stats RequestABets – A penalty taken and a player sent off – 16/1.
  • RequestABet Specials 80/1 and above –  Amond & Norwood to score, Newport County to win, 4+ corners each team and 20+ booking points each team – 100/1.

Match Betting Preview - Manchester City vs Watford. Saturday 18th May 2019, FA Cup Final, Wembley Stadium. Live on BBC One - Kick-Off: 17:00 GMT.

Manchester City vs Watford
Saturday 18th May 2019
FA Cup final, Wembley Stadium

Live on BBC One – Kick-Off: 17:00 BST

Manchester City vs Watford: Manchester City will be hoping to complete a domestic treble on Saturday when they take on comeback king Watford in the FA Cup final.

Pep Guardiola’s side sealed the title in style last weekend, coming from a goal behind to beat Brighton 4-1 at the Amex. Sergio Aguero levelled minutes after Glenn Murray had threatened to spoil the party. Aymeric Laporte, Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez then ensured City become the first team to retain the title in over ten years. Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United were the last side to achieve that feat in 2007/08. After their disappointment in the Champions League, Guardiola will be determined to ensure City end the year with three pieces of silverware, especially in a game they are favourites to win. Citizens will only be too familiar of Wigan Athletic’s upset against then Roberto Mancini’s side, but Guardiola will be meticulous in his preparation and won’t allow his players to take anything for granted.

Watford’s form hasn’t been the best since they beat Wolves in such dramatic circumstances. It’s one win in six for Javi Gracia’s men since reaching the final, which saw them finish 11th in the final Premier League standings. Understandably, their focus has very much been on this clash, knowing a win would send them into Europe next season. It’s vital they don’t concede an early goal and their big players come to the party. The likes of Gerard Deulofeu, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Troy Deeney will have to be at their best. They will have to tighten up defensively too. Since beating Wolves, they have conceded two goals per game on average, which is a run they need to address.

Kevin Friend is the referee for this game. The Englishman has officiated 38 top-flight matches this season. In that time, he has accumulated an average booking points total of 38.2. Therefore, I would advise a maximum of 60+ total points for this fixture.

Manchester City have been a class act this season and don’t often lose against the smaller sides. Watford do carry a threat, as shown by their win against Wolves, but against the champions of England, it’s a different matter altogether.

Manchester City vs Watford will be televised live in the UK on BBC One with kick off at 17:00 BST.

Prediction: Manchester City 2-0 Watford

Suggested Tips – Manchester City vs Watford – (SKYBET)

  • Correct Score – Manchester City to win 2-0 – 15/2.
  • To Score & Win – Gabriel Jesus – 15/8.
  • Price Boost – Raheem Sterling to score a brace – 11/2.
  • Double Up Boost – Manchester City v Watford – Sterling 3+ shots on target in 90 mins (was 4/1) – 8/1. (NAP).
  • To win by exactly 1 goal –  Watford to win, BTTS, 4+ Corners each team and 10+ booking points each team – 100/1. (Outsider Bet).
  • Popular Player Stats RequestABets – Deeney to score a header and Manchester City to score a penalty – 125/1.
  • Official Man Of The Match – Vincent Kompany – 25/1.
  • Player Stats RequestABets – Bernardo Silva 2+ shots on target, Sterling & Deulofeu 1+ shots on target each and Kompany & Holebas to be carded – 125/1.
  • RequestABet Specials Up to 10/1 – Over 1.5 goals, 3+ corners each team and 30+ match booking pts – 9/4. (NAP).

Match Betting Preview - Leeds United vs Derby County. Wednesday 15th May 2019, Sky Bet Championship, Play Off Semi Final 2nd Leg, Elland Road. Sky Sports Football HD - Kick-Off: 19:45 GMT.

Leeds United vs Derby County
Wednesday 15th May 2019
The Championship Play-Off, Semi-Final, 2nd Leg, Elland Road

Live on Sky Sports Football HD – Kick Off: 20:00 BST

Leeds vs Derby: Leeds United will be hoping to see through their one-goal advantage when they host Derby County at Elland Road in the second leg of their Championship play-off clash.

The Whites hold a 1-0 lead heading into this definitive clash, thanks to Kemar Roofe’s winner at Pride Park. The forward buried United’s first and only real clear-cut chance in the game, although Marcelo Bielsa’s side dominated throughout. United managed to pin the Rams back into their own half and keeping their danger men at bay. A similar performance in front of their home faithful will see them reach Wembley. United did all that without the services of Pontus Jansson, who could return for this return fixture. Adam Forshaw, who limped out of the first-leg clash will be missing, as will goal-scorer Roofe.

Patrick Bamford is set to lead the line, following his return from a two-match ban, with Tyler Roberts also out injured. Leeds were victorious in this fixture last January, beating Derby 2-0 at home. Bielsa’s record now stands at played three, won three against Frank Lampard. One more positive result will see them take a step close to the Premier League.

Derby have it all to do after being beaten on home turf last Saturday. Martyn Waghorn missed that clash, with David Nugent in attack. Waghorn has bagged five goals in his last nine games for the Rams and Lampard will be hoping to have their number nine fit for this game. If Derby are to turn the tie, they will need to be braver on the ball, as their boss stated after Saturday’s performance. Therefore, the likes of Mason Mount, Harry Wilson and Duane Holmes were ineffective, and need to be bolder in possession if they are to beat Leeds’ high press. Away from home, Derby have struggled this season. That being said, they are unbeaten in their last three on the road but have only won away twice this calendar year.

Anthony Taylor is the referee for this fixture. The Englishman has officiated 48 top-flight matches this season. In that time, he has accumulated an average booking points total of 31.8. Therefore, I would advise a maximum of 50+ total points for this fixture.

Derby have to go for it here, but, their record against Leeds this season is poor. Lampard’s side are yet to prove they quality to match Bielsa’s tactics or style. As a result, I’m going for a home win.

Leeds United vs Derby County will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Football HD with kick off at 19:45 BST.

Prediction: Leeds United 2-0 Derby County

Suggested Tips – Leeds United vs Derby County – (SKYBET)

  • Correct Score – Leeds United to win 2-0 – 15/2.
  • To Score & Win – Patrick Bamford – 15/8.
  • Both Players to score – Patrick Bamford and Pablo Hernandez – 5/1.
  • To win by exactly 1 goal – Leeds United – 11/4.
  • Player Stats RequestABets – Jansson to score a header and Klich to score from outside the area – 200/1.
  • RequestABet Specials Up to 10/1 – Leeds to score 1+ goals, 6+ Leeds corners, 3+ Derby corners and 30+ match booking pts – 7/4. (NAP).

Match Betting Preview - West Bromwich Albion vs Aston Villa. Tuesday 14th May 2019, Sky Bet Championship, Play Off Semi Final 2nd Leg, The Hawthorns. Sky Sports Football HD - Kick-Off: 20:00 GMT.

West Bromwich Albion vs Aston Villa
Tuesday 14th May
The Championship Play-Off, Semi-Final, 2nd Leg, The Hawthorns

Live on Sky Sports Football HD – Kick Off: 20:00 BST

West Bromwich Albion vs Aston Villa: West Brom will need to overturn a one-goal deficit in the second leg of their Championship play-off clash with Aston Villa if they’re to have any hope of reaching Wembley.

The Baggies head into this second leg without Dwight Gayle, who opened the scoring at Villa Park. West Brom’s top-scorer will miss both this game and the final, should they get there, after receiving his second red card of the season. That will be a big blow to James Shan’s teams’ hopes of qualifying but they do still have Jay Rodriguez to call upon. After taking the lead, Albion were very defensive at Villa Park, sitting nine men behind the ball.

At home, they will have to be much more attacking, but hope they can avoid getting hit on the counter-attack. The quality they do have in attack, even without Gayle, is enough to get the goals they need. Keeping them out at the other end will be their main concern. The Baggies have won their last five home games and haven’t lost at the Hawthorns since February, which came against Sheffield United.

Aston Villa battled back superbly to take a one-goal lead into the second leg. Conor Hourihane, who was unlucky to start the game, changed the match with his introduction and grabbed the all-important equaliser. Tammy Abraham then converted a stone-wall spot-kick, to make sure of the win. Overall, Villa were poor in the first half but much better in the second, especially after the equaliser. Gayle’s absence will prove a boost for Tyrone Mings and Axel Tuanzebe, who struggled to cope with him, particularly in the first half. Dean Smith’s men have enjoyed life on the road lately and haven’t lost away since the middle of February. With that in mind, they’ll feel confident of holding onto their first-leg lead.

Chris Kavanagh is the referee for this fixture. The Englishman has officiated 35 top-flight matches this season. In that time, he has accumulated an average booking points total of 33.3. Therefore, I would advise a maximum of 60+ total points for this fixture.

West Brom will have to go hell for leather if they want to get back in this one. Their defensive vulnerabilities are always a concern though, which were again highlighted on Saturday. Therefore, I think Villa’s lead, added to their counter-attacking threat will see them progress on aggregate.

West Bromwich Albion vs Aston Villa will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Football HD with kick off at 20:00 BST.

Prediction: West Bromwich Albion 1-1 Aston Villa

Suggested Tips – West Bromwich Albion vs Aston Villa – (SKYBET)

  • To Score & Win – Jack Grealish – 5/1.
  • Correct Score – Draw 1-1- 11/2.
  • Both Players to Score – Jay Rodriguez and Tammy Abraham – 5/1.
  • Full Time Result & Both Teams to Score – West Brom & Yes – 7/2.
  • Popular Player Stats RequestABets – Grealish to score from outside the area and West Brom to score a penalty – 80/1.
  • Player Stats RequestABets – Over 1.5 goals, Rodriguez 1+ shots on target & Abraham 1+ shots on target, 6+ match corners and 20+ match booking pts – 5/4. (NAP).
  • Player Stats RequestABets – BTTS, over 2.5 goals, Rodriguez & Abraham 1+ SOT each, 4+ corners each team and Dawson, Bartley & McGinn to be carded – 125/1.

Match Betting Preview - Brighton vs Manchester City. Sunday 12th May 2019, FA Premier League, Amex Stadium. Live on Sky Sports Main Event HD - Kick-Off: 15:00 BST.

Brighton and Hove Albion vs Manchester City
Sunday 12 May 2019
FA Premier League, Amex Stadium

Live on Sky Sports Main Event – Kick-Off: 15:00 BST

Brighton vs Manchester City: Manchester City head to Brighton knowing three points will see them win the Premier League title for a second season running.

Pep Guardiola’s side are one win from retaining their Premier League crown. City have won 20 of their last 21 games in all competitions, which has kept them one point ahead Liverpool heading into the final day of the season. It was frustrating night for champions on Monday against Leicester until Vincent Kompany’s 30-yard screamer which saw them defeat the Foxes. The City skipper has been at the heart of every title win to date, so it is only fitting that he grabbed the winner at the Etihad. It was yet another clean sheet for City too, their 10thin 12 league games. Guardiola’s side know how to get the job done in the tightest of circumstances and are no strangers to sealing a league title on the final day.

Brighton’s Premier League status was sealed last weekend after Cardiff were relegated. The Seagulls also grabbed a very notable point at the Emirates, battling back from one goal down. Back-to-back draws have helped to stop the rot for Chris Hughton’s side, but they haven’t tasted victory since March, which is a worrying run. Brighton will need an overhaul in the summer, they have become too reliant on Glenn Murray’s goal. Whilst the Englishman has had another good season, he is 35. A striker and some creative wingers need to be at the top of their shopping list, to avoid another relegation battle next season.

Michael Oliver is the referee for this fixture. The Englishman has officiated 43 top-flight matches this season. In that time, he has accumulated an average booking points total of 33.6. Therefore, I would advise a maximum of 50+ total points for this fixture.

Manchester City are calm, cool and collected. I just can’t see a Brighton, who are toothless, causing them too many problems. Once the first goal goes in, it will be game over and I expect City to be champions

Brighton vs Manchester City will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports Football with kick-off at 15:00 BST.

Prediction: Brighton 0-2 Manchester City

Suggested Tips – Brighton vs Manchester City – (BET365):

Liverpool vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
Sunday 12 May 2019
FA Premier League, Anfield

Live on Sky Sports Premier League HD – Kick-Off: 15:00 BST

Liverpool and Wolves will play on the final day of the Premier League season this Sunday.

The hosts still have hopes of lifting the trophy, however it is out of their hands because if Manchester City can beat Brighton, the Reds will have to settle for second place. The visitors have also secured a very respectable seventh place this season in their first campaign back in the top flight.

Liverpool are heavy favourites for this match and are priced at 2/7 to win by SkyBet. Jurgen Klopp will have to focus his side again after their heroic Champions League comeback during the week. Over the course of this season, there is no doubt the Reds deserve a trophy with just one loss in the Premier League all season. They could become the first team ever to finish on 97 points and not win the league. Going forward, Sadio Mane will be the main threat as Mo Salah seems likely to miss out. He has 20 goals this season and is price boosted to 12/1 to score a header

Wolves are underdogs however their price at 10/1 to win by SkyBet is very tempting. Wolves will be delighted with their 7thplace finish and possible Europa League qualification. Their record against the top six has been critical to their success however they failed to beat Liverpool earlier in the season.

Raul Jiminez has been the standout performer and has 13 goals this term. He is price boosted to 11/1 to open the scoring.

The referee for this match will be Martin Atkinson. The official has been one of the more lenient this season and has averaged 33.1 booking points per match. Last time these two met in the Premier League, not one card was brandished. SkyBet are offering 6/4 for 40+ booking points.

The match will be televised on Sky Sports Premier League HD and kicks off at 15:00.

Valencia vs Arsenal: Arsenal will be hoping to boost their hopes of competing in next season’s Champions League by reaching the Europa League final with victory over Valencia on Thursday night.

The Gunners hold a 3-1 lead heading into the second leg of this tie, having beaten their Spanish counterparts at the Emirates last week. A brace from Alexandre Lacazette and a late Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang strike saw Unai Emery’s side come from behind. Arsenal have lost their last two away games convincingly and have struggled on the road all season. In their knockout Europa League matches, they have only beaten Napoli, having lost to BATE Borisov and Rennes in the previous rounds. Throw in three-goal defeats against Wolves and Leicester City and it’s easy to see why some supporters are feeling nervy ahead of this game. Arsenal’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Brighton at the weekend has ended their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League through the top four. With one game to play, they are three points behind Tottenham but have an inferior goal difference of eight.

Valencia warmed up for their second-leg clash with a 6-2 win over bottom club Huesca. That win kept their faint hopes of securing Champions League football alive. They sit fifth in the La Liga table, three points behind Getafe who occupy the final top four. If they fail to secure qualification through the league, their only hope of entering Europe’s elite competition lie through the Europa League. Marcelino Toral’s side haven’t been at their best in the Mestalla this season. They have the tenth best home form in La Liga, despite only losing twice in 18 matches. Draws have been their downfall, with ten, whilst their away form is the fourth best.

Danny Makkelie is the referee for this fixture. The Dutchman has officiated 29 matches this season. In that time, he has accumulated a total of 2.44 cards per game. Therefore, I would advise a maximum of 50+ total booking points for this fixture.

Arsenal’s poor form away from home has cost them a place in the top four through the Premier League but in Europe, they have been more convincing. Valencia’s results at home haven’t been the best either. Therefore I’m going to back the Gunners to grind their way through.

Valencia vs Arsenal will be televised live in the UK on BT Sport 2 with kick off at 20:00 GMT.
