Bournemouth vs Spurs – Bournemouth host Spurs this weekend in Premier League action on Super Sunday.

Both sides have been enduring rather differing campaigns. The hosts have been battling away all the relegation strugglers that has seen them more recently and have gained a tiny bit of breathing space on the hectic nature of the bottom half. Meanwhile, the visitors have been juggling European duties along with their bid for top four.

Bournemouth are currently 12th in the Premier League with 33 points. Eddie Howe’s side have been a rather steady outfit this season, however not spectacular by any means. Callum Wilson has been the most prolific for the Cherries with seven league goals. Their attacking prowess however has been rather limited as they have only managed two or more goals in 37% of their Premier League matches.

Bournemouth’s recent results have been promising in their bid for survival, with a 3-0 victory over Chelsea being the highlight. Defensively they have been rather poor at times. They’ve conceded a total of 44 goals in 29 matches and kept a clean sheet in only 17% of their outings. Whilst they have managed some rather large scalps against the top six this season, Spurs will prove a very tough test for the home side.

Tottenham are currently fourth in the Premier League and fresh from midweek Champions League action against Juventus. Domestically, Mauricio Pochettino has made Spurs, once again, a tough opponent for any side. They are a very rigid and defensively sound side who have conceded only 24 goals this season. Along with this, they have also managed to keep a clean sheet in 48% of their matches; which is the second best clean sheet record behind Manchester United.

Going forward, there are only two words to describe them. Harry Kane. The Englishman is leading the golden boot race along with Liverpool winger Mo Salah with 24 goals. Whilst at times, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen have gone missing, time and again, Kane continues to find the back of the net to save the North Londoners. Kane has led an attack that has managed two or more goals in 50% of their away Premier League matches. It is tough to see Spurs not getting a crucial result this Sunday.

The referee for this match is Mike Dean. The official shouldn’t have too many problems on Sunday as Arsenal have averaged 15.9 booking points this season and Bournemouth have averaged 16.4 points. That being said, Dean isn’t afraid to reach into his pocket as he has averaged 39.5 booking points in his 19 Premier League matches.

Nottingham Forest vs Derby County – Much more is at stake than just three points in the always ferocious East Midlands derby between Nottingham Forest and Derby County.

Bragging rights and the pride of the East Midlands comes with the territory. Also, for Derby a win is essential to maintain their dwindling automatic promotion chances.

Forest will be desperate to avenge their 2-0 defeat in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. That game featured an opening goal after just 24 seconds from Matej Vydra, so always expect the unexpected in this one.

The Rams are undefeated in their last four East Midlands derbies, winning three of them. This, and the direction Gary Rowett is taking the side in, is widening the gap between the two teams. But everyone knows that derbies are a complete leveller. Derby will be favourites, but you can guarantee that Aitor Karanka’s side will need to motivation to get one over on their biggest rivals.

Forest are in the abyss of mid-table at present. An early-season play-off challenge has fallen by the wayside and now The Reds are 15th, 14 points away from 6th. Derby were in 2nd just a matter of weeks ago, but without a win in six games they are now nine points adrift of Cardiff. The race isn’t over yet though, and consolidation of a play-off spot with ten games remaining is vital.

Forest are unbeaten in their last five, so will come into this full of confidence. One feels that the club are putting the foundations in place for a potential promotion challenge next season.

Jeremy Simpson will have the hard task of being the man in the middle for this one. Of the 33 Championship referees, only six give out a higher average of booking points (45.4). The tempestuous nature of this one lends itself to the idea of him having to give out plenty more. This is the type of game that both sides may find themselves adding to their one sending off of the season to date.

Excitingly, goals are a certainty in this one. Derby have conceded in their last five games and Forest have conceded in their previous nine home fixtures. Rowett’s side have found the net two or more times in 17 matches this season too. Additionally, no side has conceded two or more goals more than Forest – 19 times.

Rangers vs Celtic: Rangers host Celtic in the Old Firm derby as the visitors aim to move nine points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic will have their eyes firmly set on the league title after crashing out of the Europa League last week,. They currently hold a six-point lead at the top of the division, with a game in hand. Whilst Celtic will head into this fixture as hot favourites, a win for Rangers could open the door for them with eight games remaining. Celtic have won just three of their last seven games, in one of Brendan Rodgers’ worst runs at the club.

Defeat against Kilmarnock was only their second in the league this season, after previously surrendering their unbeaten run against Hearts. Nine goals in their last seven goals is quite low for Rodgers’ side, whilst they have also conceded six in the process. Star striker Moussa Dembele is enduring his leanest patch since joining the club. The Frenchman has just four goals in his last 15 appearances although three of those have come in his last two games.

Rangers know that Sunday’s clash is must win if they are to hope of catching the league leaders. Since taking charge, Graeme Murty has lost two of his 15 games in charge. He has yet to taste victory in an Old Firm clash but this could be the perfect opportunity for him to break that duck. Josh Windass has been in impressive form this season, with 16 goals in all competitions. Windass, son of Dean, has scored ten goals in his last eight games, making him Rangers biggest threat going forward. Alongside top scorer Alfredo Morelos, Murty will be hoping his dynamic duo can cause Celtic enough problems to win the game.

Celtic are unbeaten in nine games against Rangers. Rodgers is yet to taste defeat against their arch-rivals and they have already won at Ibrox this season. Rangers last win in the derby came back in 2012 before the club liquidated.

Willie Collum has been appointed as the referee for Sunday’s clash. The Scotsman has an average booking points total of 49.2, the third highest in the league. Collum is one of the most experienced officials in the league, having refereed 18 league games, the joint highest.

Rangers have to win on Sunday. Given Celtic’s recent wobble, I don’t think they will be as dominant as usual. Therefore, I am opting for a draw. Rogers may set his side up to avoid defeat, which would maintain their healthy cushion at the top of the table. Thus, I think BTTS and draw would be my bet at longer odds.

Arsenal vs Watford – An out of form Arsenal host Watford this Sunday afternoon in Premier League action.

Arsene Wenger’s side have been abysmal lately with the Frenchman’s 21-year tenure coming to an expected crashing conclusion. The recent 2-1 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion has not impressed the Gunners fan base. They were also not at all happy with their previous performances against Manchester City both in the Premier League and Carabao Cup final.

Watford have found a new lease of life under manager, Javi Gracia, who has led the club to a much more stable position. Their recent Premier League outings has seen them defeat Chelsea in a devastating 4-1 victory as well as Everton and West Brom.

Arsenal are currently sixth in the Premier League and couldn’t be further from the top four action. They are 13 points adrift from fourth place Tottenham Hotspur and the ‘Wenger Out’ brigade is yet again in full flow. Despite their disappointing campaign, they have proven to be hard to beat at the Emirates Stadium. They have scored two or more goals in 78% of their home matches this season. The Gunners are without a recognised goal scorer since Alexis Sanchez’ departure. Although Alexandre Lacazette has scored nine in the league, he is out of favour to new by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal’s defenders have endured a tricky few weeks with plenty of media attention.. Their, at times, comedic defending has not gone unnoticed and has been brutally scrutinised in the past few weeks. They have managed a clean sheet in 31% of their Premier League matches.

Watford are currently ninth in the Premier League. They have been a rather inconsistent side however they have managed to pull away from the hectic bottom half. The Hornets are few points ahead of the relegation scrappers on 36 points. Their defensive record against the top six doesn’t make for pretty reading despite their recent victory over Chelsea. who have only managed a clean sheet in 27% of their league matches this season.

Going forward, their attacking prowess is a factor that Gracia has massively improved. The likes of Richarlison, Troy Deeney and Abdoulaye Doucoure have been very prolific and exciting to watch. They have led an attack that has scored two or more goals in 50% of their away Premier League matches.

I would be expecting a feisty encounter as the hosts will have a point to prove after their run of poor results. Arsenal have been awarded an average of only 15.9 booking points whilst the visitors have been awarded an average of 20.3 points. Martin Atkinson will be in charge of this fixture. The official has awarded an average of 39 booking points in his 21 Premier League encounters.

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace – Chelsea simply have to beat wounded Crystal Palace to get their Champions League qualification hopes back on track.

Palace are without a win in six and Chelsea need to capitalise on their poor form and get back to winning ways. The Blues are in apparent disarray after the most abject of performances against Manchester City last time out. The nature of the 1-0 defeat will be the most alarming aspect. The players seemingly had no desire and simply let City do as they please.

Antonio Conte’s side are now 5th, five points away from Spurs in the Champions League spots. Spurs are showing no signs of slowing down, so Chelsea need to put a run together and put them under pressure. Otherwise, it could mean no Champions League for the second time in three years.

Roy Hodgson has improved Crystal Palace, there is no doubt about that. However, after dragging The Eagles up the league they now find themselves right back in the thick of danger. They are 18th and need a win at Stamford Bridge just to escape the relegation zone.

It truly is one of the tightest relegation battles in recent memory, and someone has got to lose. One feels that Palace have enough quality in the squad to get out of danger but how hard will they take the defeat from 2-0 up against United last time out? It’s the time of year that going on a run either positive or negative can define a season.

Anthony Taylor is the man in charge, and he may well have his work cut out. No side has been given more red cards than Chelsea (4) this season and only three teams have received more yellows than Palace (49). In terms of where the game is likely to go, Chelsea still have to be favourites despite their form. They surely have too much quality not to, especially at home. However, Palace were this first team to stop the all-conquering Manchester City scoring this season, so they definitely have it in the locker.

Following their dramatic 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace on Monday night, Manchester United moved back up to second in the Premier League. Whilst United defended poorly for both goals, the fight and spirit they showed was reminiscent of previous Sir Alex Ferguson teams. Coincidentally it was also the first time United had thought back to win from two goals since the Scotsman retired. Romelu Lukaku grabbed himself the all-important equaliser, taking his tally for the season to 28. The Belgian striker also has five goals in his six games. Manchester United are now unbeaten in four games and have won their last four home games. Their last defeat at Old Trafford came back in December, which is their only home loss of the season.

Liverpool come into this game off the back of a 0-0 draw with Porto in midweek. Having held a 5-0 aggregate lead, Jurgen Klopp rotated his squad. This gave him the chance to rest Mohamad Salah, whilst Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino were also taken off during the game. Liverpool know that a win would take them above their rivals into second place. The Reds have lost just once in 20 league outings; form that has fired them into the top four. They have won their last two on the road but are yet to win away at any of the ‘big five’ this season. In those games, they have drawn with Arsenal but suffered defeat to Tottenham and Manchester City.

The last four meetings between these two sides have ended in draws, including the corresponding fixture this season. United have lost just one of their last nine games against Liverpool. The Reds last win at Old Trafford came in 2014 when they came ever so close to winning the league under Brendan Rodgers.

Craig Pawson has been appointed as the referee for this match on Saturday. The Englishman has the highest average booking points total in the league this season with 41.7. In his 18 league games, he has issued 65 yellow cards and four red cards. Therefore, booking points could be something to look out for in any RABS.

AC Milan vs Arsenal – Two fallen European giants clash in the last 16 of the Europa League as Arsenal travel to Milan to end the crisis.

It has been a woeful 2018 for Arsene Wenger and his team. No English side has lost more games since the turn of the year. The misery has been particularly compiled in the last week and a half, losing the EFL Cup final and a home league match both 3-0 to Manchester City before a miserable 2-1 defeat at Brighton on Sunday.

Arsenal are now 13 points adrfit from the Champions League places. 13. To put that into context, they are only 18 away from the relegation zone. The only possible way they can get back into Europe’s elite competition next season is by winning this one.

AC Milan will provide stern competition in doing so. Perhaps less than in years gone by, but a monster £200m+ spending spree in the summer sought to change that.

Milan have struggled throughout the season, but since Genaro Gattuso has been at the helm results have dramatically improved. The Rossoneri are unbeaten in 13 games, winning the last six without conceding a single goal.

They have even booked their spot in the Coppa Italia final against long-standing rivals Juventus. So understandably the atmosphere around the club is a very positive one at present. They too are eight points away from a Champions League position in Seria A, so winning the Europa League is imperative.

Refereeing this one will be Clement Turpin, who plies his trade in Ligue 1. In his 12 league matches in charge this season the Frenchman has dished out two red cards and 45 yellows. This results in a rather low average of just four cards per match. There is every reason to believe that will change in this game, as Milan have already received a league-high six sending-offs in Seria A. Compared to Arsenal who haven’t been given a single red, booking points on Milan seems the sensible option.

The notion of two of European football’s biggest teams battling it out to clamber themselves back upwards is pulsating. It will be a fascinating watch and be a huge test to Arsenal’s character. Character which they don’t seem to have.

The lack of leadership has seen Arsenal fail to register a clean sheet in their last 11 league matches. That signifies their lack of form after earning nine in their first 18. Milan themselves have kept nine league clean sheets in total. Equally, both teams have scored two or more goals 13 times this campaign.

Leeds United vs Wolves – SkyBet Championship play-off hopefuls Leeds United will host the league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers this Wednesday evening.

The visitors will be hoping their recent postponed match against Reading will not affect their performance, however it has handed a big boost to the hosts as Ruben Neves will now have to serve his suspension on Wednesday instead.

Leeds United are currently 12th in the Championship standings and their dreams of the play-offs are slowly drifting away. They have kept a clean sheet in 37% of their matches but have conceded two or more goals in only 35% of their home fixtures. Wolves will find it challenging to break down their defence.

The visitors are currently first in the Championship with many tipping them to hold their position for the rest of the season. For most of the campaign, Wolves have been a joy to watch and have illustrated the sheer quality and class that has seen them deservedly hold the top spot. Players such as Leo Bonatini and Ruben Neves, who is unavailable on Wednesday, are just a couple of the stars in Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.

Manchester City vs Basel: Manchester City will be looking to confirm their place in the Champions League quarter-finals as they host Basel.

After a dominant display in Switzerland, City hold a 4-0 aggregate lead. With four away goals and an impressive home record, Pep Guardiola’s side have all but sealed their spot in the next round. After three games in a very busy week, Guardiola would be forgiven for rotating his side. I expect Gabriel Jesus to start, in a bid to step up his fitness for the end of the season. The Brazilian will be hoping for more game time in a hope to lead the line for his country in the World Cup.

City have won five of their last six games. That last week, in particular, has underlined their dominance in the Premier League. After collecting their first silverware of the season, the same starting 11 took apart Arsenal at the Emirates before dominating against Chelsea. The game against Chelsea, in particular, highlighted their strength. The reigning champions failed to even put a glove on City as they failed to even register a shot on target. City have teams beaten before they even step on the pitch. Psychologically, teams are entering the Etihad believing they are beaten, which is a hallmark of a great team.

Basel have only won one of their last five games. They have lost both of their league games since their drubbing against City two weeks ago. Reaching the knockout rounds of this competition is a good achievement for this side, but they were never going to be capable of competing with City. They currently sit 14 points adrift of league leaders Young Boys in the Swiss Super League, although they do have two games in hand. Star striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel has one goal in his last eight games, which highlights their poor form in front of goal.

Pavel Kralovec has been appointed as the referee for this game. The Czech has officiated three Champions League games this season, including Real Madrid V Borussia Dortmund and Anderlecht V PSG.

Given City’s busy upcoming schedule, I expect them to rotate their squad. The hard work was done two weeks and therefore they should be home and dry. I still expect them to come out with the win, with City to win to nil my bet.
